Stretching, Beginners Routine & Math

Hi,

Looking at the beginners routine it says to do 10 X 30 Second Stretches = 5 minutes. Is there a rest between stretches or do you move immediately from one to the other? This seems like it should be 10 minutes.

Sorry if this is dumb, but.there is no such thing as a dumb question, right?

I do a long continuous stretch, down five minutes, up five minutes.

You CAN take ten minutes to do it though, taking 30 seconds - 1 minute breaks between stretches.

Yes, I often do take a break in between mainly because the grip is not tight enough. It’s all OK ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I look forward to doing the exercises, started on 3/1. I did a little back in November and December, but stopped due to time. Anyway, back at it: I am approximately 5”9/16 or 5”5/8. If I can get to a flat 6”, then I will be happy, but I am sure I will get greedy and want more. My girth sucks, around 4”, so I wouldn’t mind fattening it up a bit.

I will stick with the newbie routine for a bit and see how it goes.

It’s a good idea if you set 6” as short-term goal, and set more for your mid-term and even more for final goal.

I agree. It’s always a great idea to have any kind of goal to help keep you motivated. I record my PE minutes on an Excel spreadsheet to give me a better idea of how many minutes and hours it takes to attain my goals. It’ll be kind of cool, when I’m satisfied with whatever my final goal is, to know how many hours it took to get from point A to point B.

Have you read up on the LOT Theory?

If I understand the LOT theory correctly, I have a low LOT at 6:30 (which means harder to gain I think) and I should be focusing on stretching in the 12 o’clock direction. So I’m doing 100 12 o’clock DLD Blaster’s. Followed by some experimenting with Extreme DLD Blaster V-Stretches at a 11 o’clock angle. Finally I’m very careful and listen to my body.

This probably wouldn’t qualify as a beginners routine but my point is to read up on the LOT. <— I’d make this line bold if I knew how.

Guy’s don’t hesitate to set me straight if my understanding is incorrect (I know you won’t).

Well, if LOT is real, then I am in trouble, assuming I did it right. I can get tug back all the way down to 6:00, although it is significantly weakened after 9:00. I don’t know, but (obviously) I hope I am an easy gainer. I will take some measurements at the end of march an see how things went.

Is the LOT Theory BS because that’s your opinion or is that the general consensus of the forum?

I’m not trying to be confrontational. I’m truly curious because I’m relatively new to this forum as well.
