stretching exercise: duration or/and power

I’ve always grabbed just below my glands to stretch but I just read a thread that says you should grip at least half an inch below the glands. Is this true? I just tried it and my thumb is of top of that nerve bundle, whereas if I grip the glands, it is not touching the nerves. Which one is correct?

When I grip an inch below the glans it feels like I’m stretching the skin more than the tunica (SU), even after pulling the skin back, is this normal? Oh yeah, why is it not a good idea to grip just below the glans, thats when the stretch feels best for me.
