Telling the difference between BC and PC muscle

I’m a noob here, and was just reading up on all of the introductory threads, FAQ, videos, etc. Including the one on locating the BC muscle.

I “think” I’ve been squeezing this muscle properly, and exercising it when I urinate (start to urinate, squeeze, count to 10, release, urinate some more, squeeze, hold, etc.) But my question is.. How can I be sure I’m not exercising the PC muscle instead? Is there a test I can do, to see? I know when I squeeze it, the bottom where my perineum is, bulges downward.

Any PE experts out there have a way to really determine which is the right muscle to be squeezing and exercising here?

As westla, one of our moderators, pointed out some time back before you joined, the PC is properly called the “BC”. Same muscle.

Sounds to me like you are squeezing the correct muscle.

You are doing kegels exactly like I do them.

As shown in the image linked in that article, it is most-definitely not the same muscle. In fact, they’re on complete opposite sides of the pelvis.

That’s why I’m asking the question. When I’m doing what I think are Kegels, how do I know which of these two muscle groups is actually being squeezed? How can I be sure it’s the right one, and not the wrong one?

Then I don’t understand why he had to post so many times trying to get us to properly call the PC the BC.

Jon, try not to get too bogged down in this. Why don’t you just kegel and put your finger down there and see which one flexes? When I do this, it’s by the bulb.

Jon Soo Kwan, there is alot of unnecessary confusion here on Thunders on where the PC or BC muscle is, try to to forget about that. When you are shitting (sorry for the term) the anus is what you squeeze to stop the shit. This is the same muscle you need to contract. When you contract the anus hard you are also contracting your PC or BC muscle, whatever you want to call it. Exercising it like this will make you PC stronger and also give you the ability to control your orgasms without ejaculation.

I’ve heard some negative news about exercising the PC vs. “BC” or what I’m assuming is called the “VIP” muscle by some other people. When you exercise the PC muscle, it stimulates the surrounding nerve areas, which actually is supposed to decrease longevity. That’s what I’ve heard anyway. Maybe it’s complete b.s., but there are books out there discounting the PC muscle in favor of other methods.

I sure don’t want to be exercising the wrong muscle group, making my situation worse.

But yes, when I’m doing Kegels, and I reach down where my perineum is, I feel it flex downwards. It’s the whole area between my scrotum and my anus that flexes about the size of a grape or so.

I guess that’s the right group, but after months of daily Kegels, I can say that my ability to last longer with my wife has definitely gone way down, from over 30 minutes of active pumping inside her to under 10. I have to pull out, move around, shift positions, sometimes just stop altogether, just to stop from having an orgasm. Of course, this frustrates her when she’s mounting up for an orgasm of her own, and I pull out and move around to a different position.

My girth and length appears to be fine, according to her, but all women say that anyway, so they don’t give their men a complex about being ‘smaller than adequate’. I just wish I could last longer for her, so I could bring her more orgasms and more pleasure at each session.

This can’t be the right approach to making myself last longer. Something must be wrong here.

Maybe I’ll give the Lanacane/Orajel thing a try tonight and see if that helps a little bit. Yes, I know I have to put a condom on so I don’t desensitize her as well, but that shouldn’t be a problem.

This is the part I don’t quite understand.. If I’m about to have an orgasm, and I squeeze that muscle to stop the orgasm, I’ll have to squeeze and hold it for 10, 15, 20 minutes just to continue having intercourse, no?

I mean, if you turn on a hose, and pinch the end so no water comes out, once you lose your grip, water will come out of the hose. Since my wife doesn’t use contraceptives, and I will have to be using a condom if I fear ‘leaking’ into her, this isn’t going to work too well for me.

Or did I miss the whole mechanics of this muscle exercise?

If it’s the same muscle I’ll be squeezing when I shoot for an orgasm, as well as the same muscle I squeeze to stop from shitting, won’t that just cause an ejaculation to occur?

Do I clamp down on this muscle long before I am ready to orgasm?

Or just as I’m orgasm’ing?

Or.. What?

Replying to myself here.. I just found an interesting article that says that some men can be stimulated more by exercising the PC muscle, but not all.

It also says that using ‘numbing cremes’ will not numb your partner’s vaginal lining. Well that’s good news, I guess. Perhaps I’ll put it on 30 minutes before the ‘act’ begins and let it sink in. That’ll give me enough time for some good foreplay before showtime.

Any other comments are surely welcome here, I’m still learning.

Oh no if you have a strong PC muscle squeezing it right before the point of no return (ejaculation) ,for about 7 seconds, should be enough to close the “hose”. But since your orgasmic contractions only last for about 5 seconds there wont be any more pressure to expel cum after you hold squeeze your PC for 7 seconds. Jon Soo Kwan, you have to do some reading if you want to master this, its essential. I can only tell you so much here. Get “Taoist Secrets of Love” and “Multi-Oragasmic man” by Mantak Chia.

Don’t even think of using the multi-orgamic technique (clamping down to prevent ejaculation) as a means of birth control because it will not work. Use condoms if other contraceptive methods are out for you.

He’s right, I forgot to add that. The technique will open a new world up to you for your sexuality but it does nothing for birth control because you still have the risk of some leakage in your practice of this.
