I’m tighter on the right. I think it’s that the suspensory ligament is just right of midline, in my case.
The septum is contiguous with suspensory ligament which is also contiguous with the abdominal fascia.

I recall, when I started out, that I could feel two distinct cord-like structures. I’m reasonably sure that was the tunica of each side being pulled taught to their limit. But now the limiting factor is the septum/ligament, like most of us.
