As another trans woman interested in PE, I’m so glad I came across this thread. First and foremost thank you Velvet for stepping up and sharing your experiences because I’ve been lurking on here again for the past few months and contemplating whether or not I wanted to post. I relate a lot to what you’re talking about in regards to PE, the psychological and physical aspects unique to girls like us. Having done PE sporadically for a year or so pre transition, I’ve gained a lot of insight into how different the endeavor has become after being on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for four years. However I wasn’t in a rush to share my experience because I felt like I’d be shouting into the void. I also didn’t feel like dealing with the transphobia which would likely follow from a community of mostly cis men. With that said, big thank you to the members and moderators of ThundersPlace for your welcoming attitude and calling out inappropriate comments.
I’ve gotten back into PE a few months ago because I wasn’t too thrilled with how HRT affected my penis. Being that I do like having one and putting it to good use, I decided to get back into PE to improve my EQ. As far as HRT goes, I’ve found that spironolactone is the main culprit in negatively affecting EQ. Not necessarily because that it is a testosterone blocker, but because it is primarily a blood pressure medication. Lower blood pressure = lower quality erections. I’ve stopped taking spironolactone over six months ago and my erections improved dramatically. My testicles also grew back to their pre HRT size. In fact, I would not recommend taking spironolactone at all for feminization but that is another topic and would like to stick to discussing HRT strictly in terms of how it affects PE.
Aside from the benefits of nixing spiro from my HRT regimen, I was pleasantly surprised to find that despite having similar testosterone and estrogen levels to a cis woman, it has not affected my erections or my body’s response to PE (more on that later). One thing I am very conscious of is that spontaneous erections and morning wood have totally disappeared since starting HRT. For me and my transition, that’s normal, totally expected and absolutely wonderful. For PE though, it is a health indicator that I cannot use to determine whether or not I injured myself. I still get erections whenever I want them though.
I’m also on progesterone. I can’t really comment on how it may affect PE because I honestly haven’t noticed any impact. My libido drops significantly when I don’t take it though.
After four years of HRT and not doing PE, my penis shrunk from a BPEL of 5.75” to 5”. Before I started PE and HRT, it was a BPEL of 5.5” and after my year of sporadic PE of the newbie routine and experimenting with an ADS, I got to 5.75”. In my opinion, the shrinkage was a result of losing spontaneous erections during the years of HRT. Without them, I believe all the physical mechanisms responsible for erections become weaker and will begin to atrophy at some point. With this in mind, I decided to get back to PE to avoid that and regain optimal penis health FOR ME.
A few months ago I began to refresh myself on PE and focused on doing only kegels until I felt comfortable with starting the newbie routine. I only did it once a few weeks ago and as of yesterday, I measured a BPEL of 5.75”. Honestly blew my fucking mind. (I actually returned to my baseline length of 5.5” BPEL a few months after stopping spiro, but before PE). Some observations though. I only have done the newbie routine once so far because I don’t want to rush myself and my recovery time after that first session was interesting. I definitely did not injure myself because my EQ has been through the roof ever since and only experienced “good” pain. But that “good” pain lasted for a couple weeks. I think it’s because my ligaments were very tight and my penis hasn’t been engorged like that in years. Now that I’m confident in how PE may work for me, I’ll ease into a consistent newbie routine.
FYI I didn’t measure girth or flaccid length because I wasn’t interested in keeping track of them. Girth wise I’ve noticed I’ve always been thicker than most and flaccid length/girth did visibly improve after the last PE session.
