What fascinates me,is the role of prostaglandin because if you really want an erection and are suffering from E.D. , you can inject Caverject or another combination of chemicals called Trimix ( look it up on Google), and presto ! Thar she blows !!!!

Now what do you think could cause E.D. ? Something that affects Prostaglandin production. And what might that be? Why, an Anti-prostaglandin which is what ALL Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs are. We’re talking : Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Alleve, Motrin, Celebrex — all of them. I have searched in vain for any studies concerning the amount of E.D. at present and whether or not any study has been done concerning E.D. as another side effect of these drugs. Interesting — and needs to be addressed, but hasn’t been as far as I can tell.

There’s no question that injected prostaglandin and especially Trimix compounds give very powerful erectile benefits. Although I don’t need this (yet), my urologist knows that I admin a couple of impotence boards on the net and allowed me to use Trimix myself. He also knows I’ve tried nearly everything else that’s commercially available and that I don’t mis-use these drugs.

Trimix, which is a compound of three potent vasodilators, can be a near perfect solution for men on whom drugs like Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis don’t give satisfactory results. It is relatively inexpensive (for me about US $1.80 per event; far cheaper than Caverject), easy to use once you learn to self-inject safely, and one can regulate the duration of the erectile effect - a half hour to a couple of hours. It also acts quickly - a few minutes for most.

You raise an excellent point: Until recently, little study has been devoted to the impotence potential of many over-the-counter drugs - prime offenders among them being sinus/cold remedies like Sudafed (which incidently is used when Trimix or Caverject gives too long a response, to dampen an erection and prevent priapism) and many common prescription meds.

The generally acknowledged causes of impotence are:

Vascular 40%
Diabetes 30%
Medications taken 15%
Pelvic surgery, radiation
or trauma 6%
Neurological issues 5%
Hormonal imbalences 3%
Other 1%

I suspect that the medication and vascular categories are underestimated because they should include alcohol, caffeine, drugs you mention, and a few more.

What is often overlooked is the effect that medications, including the erectile drugs, can have on ejaculation. It’s one thing to get it up, and another to get off. Viagra, for example, has an established reputation for causing delayed ejaculation and/or anorgasmia in a significant number of users. This is often a dosage-related problem - the higher the dosage you take, the more difficult to cum for guys affected this way. The SRRI class of anti-depressants depress libido and can delay ejaculation and cause impotence.

All sexually active men who require medications need to become very savvy consumers, learning about side effects before they launch themselves into any medication program, either prescribed or OTC.

As a pediatrician, I am familiar with the use of Indocin to close a persistent ductus srteriosus ( the blood vessel that shunts the blood away from the lungs in the unborn child) In other words Indocin an Antiprostaglandin successfully cuts of the blood supply through the Artery that is supposed to close at birth and sometimes doesn’t. That being the case , since Indocin is an Antiprotaglandin as are Motrin , advil, aspirin , aslleve etc.. and the trimis and caverject are primarily pprostaglandins . it is very likely that much E.D. is directly attributable to the drugs being used for headcahe, and arthritis and or pain, wlhich act on the blood vessels in the penis , therebyutting down the flow necessary for an erection. I can find no reference in the medical literature concerning this potential cause of E.D,..

How can I increase the whole amount of seminal fluid?

There are a lot of threads on this in the Supplements Forum. But in my own experience, nothing worked as well as L-arginine combined with drinking a lot of water or fluids so you stay hydrated all the time. They both work, but doing both works better.

Regarding the coagulated portions of ejaculate produced by the seminal vesicles, I had never really noticed anything in my own ejaculate until about 6 months ago. I observed a strand or two of a gel-like substance in with all the otherwise normal looking fluids. Is this what you are referring to? I haven’t looked yet to see if it actually breaks down over time. I thought my mid-thirties was too early for my “stuff” to start drying up! I’m glad that’s not the case. Is there any evidence that the amount of coagulated portions changes with age?

No, you are not drying up. Changes in the consistency of ejaculate is normal; may have to do with the frequency of ejaculation. Some guys more clumpy fluid when they haven’t ejaculated in awhile. There is also a dietary factor, and of course the degree to which you keep yourself hydrated.

As one ages, it is not the coagulated ration that changes so much; instead there is a very gradual lessening of total volume over a very long period of time; you won’t even notice it happening probably.

All ejaculate, even the clumpy, gel like portions, breaks down to a runny liquid usually within 20 minutes. In cases of male infertility this liquification is often timed; theory is that very thick ejaculate which does not quickly break down binds the majority of sperm, making it impossible sometimes for them to swim toward the target.

Any threads with advice on how to ‘fire’ sperm at distance like Peter North? I’ve found that squeezing the PC muscle and twisting the head, as though you’re milking it, just before cumming makes it shoot out several metres.

But it’s pretty hit and miss haha
