I started to work on some designs for PE devices but later abandoned the project for a hands on approach. I mean I earned most of my gains through manual PE and I can’t for the life of me see any long term use in a contraption. It’s like working with exercise machines at the gym in a fixed ROM vs heavy sandbags, kegs, and bodyweight exercises. You get more out of it in the long run if you learn to strengthen your gip, kegel muscles, and abs during PE instead of slouching and letting a device keep you enlarged. Don’t get me wrong I still believe in devices but only for those who have MASTERED MANUAL PE FIRST.
That being said I think your best bet is to design an extender that can be put together with a few snaps and clicks from just the plactic it’s molded from. No extra screws or glue needed just follow a step by step and put it on! The real trick will be make it supportive enough yet flexable from a lot of mini layers, but that’s not too dificult to do. You could make a damn extender out of legos and it would still work like the $200 versions sold in stores.
