As for the measurement method, I believe one would have to add about 1cm, in average to those reported values in order to get to "our" NBPEL.

To add? NBPEL is not 6”, not even BPEL is that long. Maybe to subract?

Their average is 14cm (5.5”) - doesn’t that seem to be on the lower end of other measured averages?

They put a measurement tool printed on paper below the penis, starting from where the sack would end (to the point till which you could roll back a condom).

Just figuring out how this would work with my piece, it seems to me that the distance from tip to this point might be around 1cm or even half an inch shorter
Than what you would get with NBPEL, measuring NBPEL on top ?

But even if you shift this curve +/- 1 cm to the right, I’m not so much concerned about that,
I believe it is the distribution that counts: it falls off rapidly after 16-17cm.

If you add half inch to 5.5 though you have 6"; as far as I know, NBPEL average is about 5", BPEL arount 5.8". So a NBPEL average of near 6" is bigger than the average according to other size surveys. The measurement method doesn’t seem reliable to me, I can’t help: it’s still self reported. Also, they found 2 men in the 10" range and 6 men 9"+. If we are speaking of NBPEL, on 1661 men, 6 guys who are 9"+ are too many, I would think. In the whole world of porn there is only one undisputed functional 9"+ penis.

It seems only 5% of people were above 16cm and only 3 guys on 3,300 reached 17.5cm, if I’m reading it correctly. This is NBPSL, not NBPEL though.

If you go to the french condom size blog mentioned above, they have the size distributions clipped out of the PDF as images in their article.

Where is innovation these days? Researchers should devise a tube with a standardized base attached. I guess whoever creates it first gets to determine the standard. The base would serve as a stop against the pubic bone/fat pad.

Test subjects would get fully erect, then jam their penises into the thing as far as possible. Lasers or whatever imaging method would collect 3d model data of everything inside.

Simple, and can’t be cheated.

You should be careful with mean and SD as well. These parameters are only helpful in case of normal distribution.

Length:
The mean is 14.15 cm, SD= 2.66 cm. One would expect that 84.13% of penis lengths to be less than the mean +1SD = 16.81 cm (case of a normal distribution). It is not true! 84.13% of penis lengths are below 16.1 cm.
The median has more value: 14 cm. And the "non normal" SD is closer to 2.1 cm.

Girth:
It is even more obvious with girth.
The mean is 12.23 cm, SD= 2.23 cm. One would expect that 84.13% of penis girths to be less than the mean +1SD = 14.46 cm. It is not true! 84.13% of penis girths are below 13.5 cm.
The median is 12 cm. And the "non normal" SD is closer to 1.5 cm.

As somebody who studied economics and worked with data but doesn’t used stuff for ages, I really appreciate that somebody is bringing out the real relevant indicators.

The median, the middle value, is actually a value that should interest us PE’er. If the median is 14 cm for length, half of the population are below 14 cm and half of the population have a dick longer than 14 cm.
