Blood Pressure vs Gains correlation

Blood Pressure vs Gains correlation

I have this theory that blood pressure may be useful in determining PE routines. It goes like this:
Your blood pressure is comprised of 2 numbers, systolic pressure and diastolic pressure. The difference in the 2 numbers can be used as a metric for determining the elasticity of your arteries. When your large arteries have a high elastin content your arteries will stretch easier and farther thus helping to even out the change in systol and diastol. In other words when your heart is resting your arteries are returning back to their normal size. Arteries with a lot of elastin will stretch farther during systol and thus maintain a higher diastol pressure. (The systol pressure is also decreased with more elasticity).

I believe this relates to PE gains in that PE’ers with high elastin content may have more trouble achieving permanent gains. They may also benefit more from the use of long duration light load stretching since I believe elastin is more prone to “creep” effects than is collagen. I would like to compile some data to test my hypotheses. Anyone interested in this? (Not like lack of interest has ever stopped me before though ;) )

I’d also like to hear what others think about the effects of high elastin content on PE. I think that elastin in the penis provides a spring-like “restoring force” which keeps the penis in a more compacted state when flaccid. This works against getting gains. That is why I think people with a higher elastin content need to do more ADS type of stuff.

As we age I think our arteries lose their elastic properties. This is why some people claim that older people gain better. However there is also a natural variance in elastin content among people of the same age. This could help explain why some people are easy gainers and some are hard gainers. The blood pressure measurement may provide an easy way to quatify this.

Dr Mengele Jr.,

If I may chime in here for a bit. Looks like you have a sharp mind in your head, may I ask what you study in college? I am just curious as I suck down another smoke at the PC here.

Did you ever think about people who gain stretch marks easily or don’t may be better at gaining? I wasn’t paying super attention to your previous posts above this too much. I guess I am a lazy bastard, but I have been called much worse.

What is your daily consumption of caffeine? Do you smoke? Do you drink? Do you have restless leg syndrome? The minds of the forums desire to know. help us out Tube, please.

Thanks again and have a good night.

Triple T,
I still don’t know what that chap meant with his Mengele comment. I’m a graduate student. I drink some coffee. Average prob 40 ounces coffee a day + a few NOTPEPSI’s. Last night I slept in my office. Its a ten foot by ten foot cubicle box with no windows. I slept on three chains that I aligned together to form a very minimal “couch” and hung a coat over the door window to keep out the hall light. That should be all you need to know.

Oh, and I don’t know much about the formation of stretch marks. Its something to look into. I told BigT some more things about me.

I was just throwing the stretch mark thing out for you to look into. It seems some women never get them even after dropping a kid. There is also a level of stretch marks that certain cultures are more prone to then the others. I don’t know if something in the skin makes them not appear or not. If the skin stretches leaving a mark is this good or bad for the collagen in theory? I don’t know. I am a Bachelor of Arts man myself, more your camp then mine.

Tube - You’re making assumptions that are not necessarily true. The amount of elastin in one tissue (arteries) may not be the same in other tissues (penis), so no correlation can be made.

Your terminology is rudimentary. It’s systolic and diastolic pressure. The term for the difference between the two is pulse pressure. Please go to this site and learn about cardiac and circulatory physiology. Start with the "arterial pressure" link (left side). Follow every link in the text for deeper explanations of the various components that can effect blood pressure.

However, you should remember that arteries are not simple elastic tubes that change shape as pressure inside changes. They have muscular walls that relax and contract from a variety of chemical and nervous signals and can do so in very short periods of time. This can change the blood pressure from second to second making it, and the pulse pressure, useless for predicting anything about PE gains.

Hmmm, I guess I stand corrected. I’ll learn more about it.

Wes, the terms I was looking for were systole and diastole. A had heard them used from academic sources. I can’t remember where, but was likely a textbook, paper, lecture, or other academic presentation.

From dictionary.com:

sys·to·le n. ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sst-l)
The rhythmic contraction of the heart, especially of the ventricles, by which blood is driven through the aorta and pulmonary artery after each dilation or diastole.

[Greek sustol, contraction, from sustellein, to contract. See systaltic.]

sys·tolic (s-stlk) adj.

I would hardly consider the noun form of the word to be more rudimentary. A quick google search of systole shows 43,000 pages while a search for systolic shows 420,000 - less popular perhaps but hardly more rudimentary.

I have read through a lot of Wes’s excellent cardiology link. When I’m done I think I will have an honorary MD or something :chuckle: . However I haven’t found anything that would discount my theory.

What I have learned so far:
The aorta is the main compliance vessel and is the primary modulator of the pulse pressure. The arterioles and capillaries of the penis are very different structures than the aorta. So why should a measurement of the pulse pressure give us any insights into PE techniques?

Well, my hypothesis goes like this. The biochemical pathways which affect aortic compliance are related to the pathways which regulate elastin content in other similar tissues. Which genes are important? How closely related are the promoters for elastin transcription in the penis to those in the aorta? I don’t know. I am hypothesizing that there is some correlation between the elastin quality and content in the aorta to that in the vessels of the penis. But what about other important tissues in the penis? Is aortic compliance correlated with overall penile elasticity? I intend to find out.

I have a new test for penile elasticity. You bend your flaccid penis all the way to one side against your thigh when you are standing up. Then you release it and count the number of oscillations it makes. The number of oscillations will depend on penis length and possibly on tissue elasticity.

When I conduct my experiment I intend to gather data for pulse pressure, # of oscillations in the spring back test, flaccid penis length, and gain data.

Right now Its still in the discussion stage.

Darn! Here I thought I had stopped you from another hair-brained scheme.

Do you think room temperature, time from last ejaculation, time of day, cut or uncut, or a zillion other things might effect the “spring back test?”

Here we go again…

Averaging out the spring back test over multiple days will eliminate the confounding factors. I’m hurt Wes, I thought I could trust you …

Don’t be offended. Your credibility for asking serious questions went out with the worms, IMO. Perhaps others are interesting in how PE works at the microscopic level, but my guess is that most just want some general information on how it works. Since you cannot change the composition of your penis (i.e. the amount of elastin in your arteries), how will this blood pressure experiment help you do better PE? You come up with these odd theories and experiments, but in the end will they get you a bigger penis than just doing the exercises that are known to produce results?

I think it would be a good thing to lay off any use of “NOT-PEPSI”. It will shrink your dick for sure and cost you money while giving you a nose bleed and a heart attack. Who wants to be wound up all day anyhow? Not me, I love relaxants.

What is your purpose here wes? You’re asking questions I’ve already answered. Please state your purpose clearly and openly so there can be no mistaking.

I haven’t read every post you ever made, so I wouldn’t know what you’ve answered before. What is my purpose visiting your thread? To challenge you to think about things from a different perspective, I guess. Would you like for me to go away? I can put you on my ignore list and never have to see a worm stretching, blood pressure, or thread rating post again.
