I had an off an on run with excess caffeine over the last two weeks. I would say it can last a few days. I’m two days off the stuff. I’ll know if things increase during my next ballooning session.

Imasleep, I wouldn’t worry about it.

One big mug of tea a day shoulnd’t be bad right?

I my opinion there are far more important factors to focus on than a cup of tea everyday. I feel it tends to become a bit exaggerated. Some people just take it to the extreme, taking supplements, pills, runs everyday, stops doing/eating/drinking various things they think might affect gains, buys devices, etc.

Coffee is a vasocontrictor as well as a diuretic (meaning it increases your rate of urine production). So not only does caffeine shrink your blood vessels, but it also dehydrates you. Drinking lots of water alleviates one of these symptoms.

What damaker said.

I also agree that one cup of tea a day won’t really hurt you, but caffeine is a stimulant, and while it’s a mild one, if you accumulate it’s effect over a year, it adds up. I don’t drink caffeine, save for an off night when I want to get a little buzz, but being that I drink so little, I really notice the after effects, even with a cup of tea; the morning after, I feel a little groggy, I can’t really pick myself up the same way without caffeine, and my highs are never as high, the lows are always lower - it could all be psychosomatic, but I usually don’t even remember I had caffeine till later, I just think, “what is wrong with me today?”

I don’t think daily use of caffeine is healthy, but to each their own. Definitely quit the soda though, overloads of High Fructose Corn Syrup is terrible for your body.

Going for 6 inches of girth, wish me luck.

I disagree that a cup of tea would add up over time kazooplayer.

As far as PE is concerned, a cup of coffee or tea is not going to do anything good or bad.

Swimming shrinks your penis, does that mean swimming changes your gains?

I don’t mean it adds up in the sense that it builds up in your system, I mean that it takes it’s toll on your system. I don’t think caffeine has any real positives, except a quick burst of unstable energy.

One cannot equate the stimulant effect of caffeine as it directly applies to gains.

The dehydration would cause a more noticeable effect I would think.

I do think caffeine gets a bad rap in general. Folks say that “it causes dehydration”. While that IS true, caffeine, at most, will only cause a 10-15%
diuresse effect. So, drinking a 12 oz can of Diet Soda will still net you 10 additional ounces of liquids.

Drink up! Get those antioxidants! Although, I personally prefer tea…

I don’t think tea is bad it has less caffeine than coffee, tea is also an antioxidant that may trump the caffeine effect. Then there is decaf \green and black tea.

Caffeine raises your blood pressure, not good for people who already have diabetes. I think decaf coffee may have the same anti oxidant effect without blood vessel constriction.

After reading the article further decaf has some of the insulin resitant properties that regular coffee does without the jitters and without the rise in blood pressure.

Exactly - coffee does not equal caffeine.

That is why I drink decaf “French Roast” set at Turkish grind hobo style. Makes for really good Joe!

Okay, neither of you are reading the full article. It specifically states benefits of caffeine.

What did you think the point of the study was? To show how drinking coffee isn’t so bad.
Why was this kind of study necessary? Because caffeine is in coffee!

You could easily argue that the way coffee is most often decaffeinated is a harmful process. I think decaffeinated coffee made in this fashion, most of it is, is much worse than coffee on its own.

This thread spoke about having a caffeinated beverage. It is alright to do that, and will have zero effects on your gains. The only debate should be about just HOW good it is for you.
