Off topic but, what does a fisherman do with lead wire?

As for tungsten, I have some solid tungsten fishing weights, but it seems much harder than lead. Not sure it would bend the same.

No, no. Not to melt down into weights. To twist, bend, insert, and otherwise manipulate into weights.

One fishing application I have done with it years ago was using it for surf fishing. Not sure if everyone knows what that is, it is essentially fishing in the ocean from the beach. But the constant waves would bring your bait in really fast if you don’t have a heavy weight. A weight shaped a bit like an anchor is even better. Usually I use the pyramids or tear drop shaped ones, but one time we didn’t have any so my uncle and I bent some lead into strange shapes that would catch a bit while also being heavy. Worked great.

That is my only real life experience using it for fishing though.

I remembered I had a small roll of lead lined copper cable under the house that might make a CC in a pinch. The cable is labelled TKXP 500V - 1.4ohm/M -STK -ESWA-901. It is a fairly heavy duty multisttranded copper cable with a lead sheath and then a thin plastic outer layer. Its total thickness is about 7mm which is a bit over 1/4”. Suspect it is used as an earthing cable in underwater applications.

A 2.4 Metre length weighs about 450 gms (1 lb) so it is a bit lighter than Xeno’s hollow lead cable. It is maleable and will hold a bit of tension so I think I can make a CC out of it.

Just got to work out how to seal the ends so there are no hard edges or lead leaching out.

Do you think epoxy is the go or should I use silicone?

Really Fred, I know guys want to “use what they’ve got” or “improve on a design”, but the CC as presented has no alternative permutation that can make it perform similar to the presented form with other constructions, let alone make it better.

With respect to the material that you’ve proposed, I can guarantee you that the cable that you referred to will not have the ductility required to make the CC as presented work as well as it does.

I’ve already done the research and design work for you…relax, take advantage of it and just make it as presented.

I think making it from pure gold would be better. ;)

They are about the same malleability, but gold is way heavier and it won’t require a sheath at all since it won’t poison you.

Most importantly by far is that gold would look WAY cooler. I like my cock so I want to put a ring on it. ;)

I understand Xeno’s point. It really was just a case of trying something out that was essentially free and readily available. Still waiting to hear if I can get some of that 10 mm lead wire.
