I know this has the potential to be a moronic question but here goes anyway.

Is a cock ring supposed to go in front of your balls or behind them???

Yes.

It depends on how you want to wear it and what size it is. I prefer a metal ring, that goes only around the base of the cock. Some guys like to use larger rings that go around the whole package.

I have only experimented with minor household items as cockrings, and I prefer them only around my cock, no balls. But everybody is different.
