Comfortable Clamp

I have been trying to create a comfortable clamp. I have tried gluing some rubber tubing on a cable clamp. Mostly it’s not too bad but it always pinches the skin as you try to get those last couple of clips.

Anyone managed to create a comfortable clamp that you can use without having to use wrapping.

I took the cable clamp and used a round file to remove the sharp edges. Then I used a strip of that green felt for protecting furniture. I think it works pretty good. Eventually the felt has to be replaced but that is cheap and easy. It also doesn’t use up much space in the clamp. I clamp behind the balls and the cable clamps are just big enough.

I’m sure of someone mentioning using a mouse-mat. Anyone any comments on that?

I use Monty’s Air Clamp and I find it to be as gentle as a kitten but it clamps like a lion.

It gets my vote.

I cut a strip of mouse pad and glued it to the clamp, just make sure the mouse pag strip is longer than the inside diameter of the clamp about a 1/4 of an inch on each side and only apply a small amout of silicone near the ratchet and before teeth side, not near the hinge. You can then cut some off if needed. My clamps are like this and I have no problem. Do not trim the padding even with the ratchet opening and the begining of the teeth or it will pinch the hell out of you.
