Actually I RARELY put the apostrophe in when its need on this forum.

Does it really hurt that much to write correct English (American or British). For one point, there are many who use the forum and whose first language is not English, So it helps them to write better English

For another point If standards are allowed to slip. The result is the horror of the chat forums speak - I almost said language!

Writing humorously, allows some latitude. But an intelligent debate surely needs intelligent language.

Seriously, I fucking adore the rules around here (there isn’t one against profanity is there?). When I hang out on other forums, I’m appalled as ever at having to still try to decipher l33t speak and chat speak. I keep waiting for a mod to jump in and tell the chat-speak-geeks to just type english so I can just read it, then I remember I’m not at Thunder’s. I almost forgot myself once, and asked a guy on a sports forum to ‘read the guidelines’.

Then again, Mom was an English and Science teacher durring my formative years. I was grounded once for using double negatives. Dope she let me get away with, but “ain't got no” would get the can of whoopass opened on me. :)

Anyway, it seems all that’s asked around here, is an effort be made, nobody’s looking for perfection. And that’s a hell of a lot less than Mom asks. :leftie:

I do the best I can.. I dont really type in forum chat talk. I do like the lack of a profanity filter. I think its kinda stupid to have one on a forum full of adults! Its part of the english language, like it or not. I`ve been thrown off a car forum for “implied profanity”. It was used in a discriptive manor, it wasnt directed towards anyone. What a bunch of assholes!
