Have I been measuring wrong?

Hmm, when entering the data in the PE size database, it says:

Erect Length

Either standing up or lying flat, hold your fully erect penis perpendicular to your body. Take the “0” end of your ruler and press it against your pubic bone, along either side of your penis. This is your bone-pressed erect length measurement. Please use the same ruler each time for consistancy.

Uhm, on either SIDE of my penis? I’ve always measured on the top.

When I measure from the side, I pop up to 7.5” in length BP. From the top I’m 7.25”.

I’m like 6.7 NBPEL if I measure from the top and 7.25 NBPEL if I measure alond the side!

From where should I actually measure?

Measure from the top. From the side, you will get an added measure. Some do measure that way, but the important thing is consistency.

I know some say it doesn’t really matter. I think it does. We have, say three guys claiming 8” - one nbp, on bp on top, one bp along side. And along comes another who says he is 8.5” - because he measured from below. So what is the standard? How does a newbie, for example, take a reference size? As you will see, few guys have backed up their size with good clear pics. Admittedly, it is not easy getting a rock hard erection and taking a good pic, especially when alone, but it would be could to see some of these claims baked up - even it is only to set a standard or to have reference size pics.

And I suppose I get that best from measuring from the top?

If you go to close to the shaft you will also measure longer. I think to be totally consistent you need to bake sure you are on the bone.

The problem with measuring from the top is that you are fighting ligs to get to the bone, I think thats why the side measurement was picked (though I could be way off base). Personally I measure on the top too. Guiri and CL are right, its important to pick a method and stick with it because what you are trying to trace is gains.

I measure from the top, but slightly to the right of center so that the left edge of the ruler is over my tip. this makes it easier to read and is less painful. I don’t find a really significant difference top or side, but some guys find the tissue over the center of the top as too tender to get a good seat on the bone for measurement. It hurts to much there for some guys.

Yeah, it hurts like hell if I press hard there, but I’m not sure I can be consistent otherwise.

Yeah, I tried pushing the ruler on the right side of the lig, then pushing the lig aside. I got the same measurement ant it was ALOT less painful, so I will keep doing that from now on.

I agree with the ligs-in-the-way thing.

If I try to measure from top, I can’t bone press. if I get out of the way of the ligs on top, even at the ‘highest’ point of bone (resulting in shortest measurement) which is not the base of my penis, I get 24cm, whereas if I measure from the side, out of the way of ligs and pressed into bone at the very base of my penis, I get just over 25cm. not quite 1/2 and inch between the higest and lowest points measureable.

Yeah, the pain is a problem. What I do is put a piece of cloth beneath the ruler before pressing and it helps considerably. It may take 1/16” or so off the measurement but it is worth the added comfort.
