IPR the sky is the limit?

I have done one cycle of IPR, after 6 weeks or so of decon.

I gained about 4-6 mm and seem to have kept them. My flaccid improved noticeably.

mgus,

Were these 4-6mm a big improvement on what you have gained in the past in a similar timeframe?

Congratulations on the gain, Mgus! I know how hard they are to achieve for us vets.

From your description, it sounds like you departed rather significantly from Xenolith’s protocol. First, you really didn’t use heavy weights, so I question whether you ever achieved the inflammation needed to kick off IPR healing. Second, you didn’t mention using an ADS between workout days. He recommends this as part of his micro-IPR routine. Third, you did a whole lot more workouts than I did. Xeno recommended twice a week for two weeks. I think I did a total of 5 workouts. You did about twice as many.

None of that is intended as critical. I’m thrilled that you’ve gotten results. It’s not the prescribed IPR protocol, but it’s definitely in the same vein and provides good data on an appealing variant.

You know, I may have gained 4mm in my last dismal attempt at an IPR cycle, but there’s no way I could accurately document such small changes. mgus’s measuring ability is something to be envied.

My measurements are amazingly consistent now—to within 1/16”. I know it sounds farfetched, but I would definitely notice a 4mm gain.

The measuring thing is a bit tricky. And I may well be better off saying I’ve gained somewhere between 2-6 mm. There is a difference, we can let it rest at that.

The gain was large in relation to the time spent, yes.

Klayton, I described what I consider to be a excellent method of measuring growth here: Patience…

When you get used to using the camera, you will be able to read gains with 1-2mm margin of error. The method will also help you become much more honest about your own measures. I know it has made me more honest. I have totally stopped measuring with other methods. If the gain does not show on the camera, I do not count it.

Just a tip.

Argh! That link somehow got tottaly off! This should be the correct link: - babbis - Modified newbie routine

I’ve been running searches on IPR but all I’ve found are criticism, adaptations to and discussion of the process.

If someone could someone point me to a description of the actual process itself it’d be very appreciated since reading all this detail without knowing what it’s in reference to is starting to wear me down (normally I’d be a little more pro-active but I’ve got an antibiotic-resistant flu at the moment and I just don’t have the energy).

I’d like to point out that Babbis helped me out - I approached him with questions relating to Kristian69:s posts in Xeno’s thread, and he suggested a schedule that I adapted a bit. I thoughtlessly disclosed details of the schedule in this thread, and have had them removed.

I apologize for that, and I do wish to thank Babbis for his help.

We are cool and you are welcome!

Wow, I really have been away for awhile.

IPR? Shit’s news to me. I must investigate further…

Cheers,

Zig

My feeling on all this is that in order to keep gaining you need to take a break once in a while. I don’t really think the routine matters all that much within reason as long as you are consistent with it. My feeling would be you should gain than cement gain than when gains stop take off 1-2 months and start again. It seems a pretty simple principal.
