Is heat necessary for clamping gains?

I am getting back to clamping. Adding heat in the past has sometimes led to worse red spot problems, and it’s also sort of a pain in that as I sit at my desk it’s easy to throw a clamp on for a few minutes, but not so easy to bother with heat first.

Do you think heat is necessary to clamping gains? Have some of you had good gains without heat?

If heat ld to worse red spot prblems ,hen it hints that you are damaging yourself due to excessive clamping .

But to your question. heat helps the gains, but is not absolutely necessary.

On the other hand, you could perhaps use less power on the clamp. And warmth rather than heat might suit you better.

The first two years of clamping I never used heat. I’m not sure if it makes a difference. I like to go without it so I could monitor if I was getting too cold. I suppose you could use heat and shorter sets to ensure there’s no coldness setting in.

I don’t think heat is necessary to gain. I’ve never used a heat lamp or anything similar
