Jelqing for recovery, not exercise
From yesterday I started getting into jelqing. I was doing it earlier but only sort of a couple here and there. I’d never given them too much thought before but after reading HoustonWoods thread it changed my thinking.
Houston talks about jelqing like it’s something he’d do like 300 of last thing at night to guarantee morning wood. Before this I thought jelqing was just a pretty mild exercise that is unlikely to lead to much growth. But it made me realise that jelqing is more something you should do to stay supple and healthy rather than to directly cause growth. A bit like stretching and massage after strength training to soften up the muscles and help them heal.
After a lot of hand clamping my dick can get a bit over stiff. Like the 2 corpus cavernosum have a steel outer skin that won’t allow any more expansion. There must be some kind of fascia muscle around the corpus cavernosum to protect you from exploding when getting a lot of pressure building up in your dick. Something which contracts after girth work and stays contracted until you can relax it.
I don’t know about anyone else but if I’ve been drinking loads, the next morning I have this feeling like the outside of my dick is hard even though I am completely flaccid. Tends to be depressingly skinny too. Conversely, when my flaccid is nice and chubby it tends to have a nice squishy soft feeling like the fascia muscle is all relaxed and allowing my dick to expand.
So I want to keep this fascia as relaxed and supple as I can at all times. If I start getting cumulative tension then all gains are stopped and most likely my dick will start to get smaller. This is essentially what is happening when I feel I’m getting ‘fatigued’.
Back to jelqing: after a hand clamping edging session I thought I’d follow HoustonWoods’ advice and do 300 jelqs. I basically just covered it in coconut oil and went at it as if I was massaging knots out. Different grips, different speeds, different squeeze force. Just went for whatever was feeling good and like it was softening up the tissue. At a couple of points my dick got real hard so I’d just squeeze it back really hard as I did it. No pain at any point, just working with it and doing what felt right - like scratching an itch or stretching when you feel sleepy. No mechanical forced technique.
Anyway, right after I felt good to go for another hand clamp session and had lost that negative kind of hardness. I made sure that the last thing I did before I slept was jelq so the muscle would be relaxed, not contracted as it recovered in the night.
Awesome morning wood when I woke up. Really good thick feeling too. I did a couple of 5 minute jelq sessions during the day - got erect each time and just squeezed harder the harder my dick got - and by the time I got home this morning my dick was drastically healthier feeling than it has been for about a month. Significant improvement. I’ll post a flaccid pic in my progress thread after this post.
So to summarise: I think we should treat jelqing as massage/recovery rather than an exercise in itself. Not to say it’s any less important than exercise but I think we should be finding our own personal balance of exercise and recovery. I’m putting jelqing in the recovery category and hand clamping in the exercise category. Would like to hear your thoughts on this, as well as other things you would put in the recovery category.
