Jelqing/Stretching--Which to do First?

I have what seems to be a pretty good routine… I mainly do heavy jelqing and stretching, and sometimes do O bends as well if I feel up for it. I’m doing it one day on, one day off, which seems to feel ok. So far I’ve noticed that I got thicker, and my flaccid length has improved greatly. However I really want to gain length, so I have been stepping up the intensity of my stretches. I want to know if anyone knows whether it matters if you do jelqs first, then stretches, or stretch first and then jelq. I first do a good long hot wrap and also submerge my dick in a glass of hot water… when it feels pretty warm and loose, I jelq with lube for maybe 15 or 20 minutes, then I go in the shower and stretch it for another 20 minutes or more. Sometimes I do O bends in between those. Does anyone know whether it makes a difference to do jelqs and stretches in a specific order? also, sometimes I jelq with one hand, sometimes two (with one hand, i simply keep the base clamped with the other hand and do all my jelqs with one… this seems to give it a better plump up than the forum’s alternating hand technique. I need input !!

personally, I like to do my stretches and hanging first and then jelq, as the jelqing seems to help with getting the blood flowing after stretching and hanging.

I don’t think there is a set way that is better. It really depends on how your unit responds. Most guys like to jelq after stretching mainly because of two factors 1) see wbassett’s post and 2) if you wet jelq it’s hard to get a good grip for stretching with lube on your willy and hands from jelqing. Do what you feel is best for you.

I prefer to stretch first when I am totally flaccid, not plumped and lube free.

Like you when I jelq I also clamp the base with one hand and jelq with the other. I do this because I seem to be prone to thrombosed veins when stretching the foreskin lengthwise.

Well after a good jelqing session my dick feels somewhat loose and pretty numb, so it is easy to give it a good strong pull without pain. I wonder if stretching first will make it too numb to sustain a good erection level for jelqing? I will try a stretch first jelq after routine and see how my unit responds. I do the combination of exercises every other day, without regard to what day it is. I have been rock solid about doing this for the past month or so. And all I see so far is flaccid gain. Some people have said they stretch 2 days on, one day off, and I’m considering doing that. But it seems like you would waste the gains from the first day by not resting enough time before working it the second day. I dont know. shit i wish this stuff made more sense, although i understand it a lot more than I used to.

I think its common practice for most members around here to stretch continuously. The ligiments need consistent and steady force to elongate, otherwise if you are just stretching periodically (say every other day) they just return to normal elasticity and you don’t really gain. I stretch six days a week to keep the stress levels up so that the ligs heal in an elongated state. I would recommend uping the amount you stretch (as you said) and see what develops. I don’t think its a good idea to stretch any less than 4 days per week. IMO

What to do first? Whatever works best and feels the most productive, don’t be scared to experiment and see.

The jelq, then the stretch worked by far the best for me. I finally combined them both in a jelq topped off with a strong downward stretch routine, which I continue to this day. My greatest gains came from this combo, both flaccid and erect.

I do my jelqing and stretching in two different sessions.

Has anyone seen a benefit from stretching both before and after jelqing? In aerobic exercise we are taught to stretch before and after the workout. Would the same principle apply here?

In the first Newbie PE program it suggests a routine of 2 days on, one day off. How long into the program should we begin stretching 6 days a week?

That does make sense horse, I can see how that would produce a really good stretch. I would try that technique out but like I said I am prone to injury when the foreskin is stretched lengthwise. When I stretch I can pull the foreskin right back.

If you wet jelq don’t you find it hard to get a grip for the stretching part?

Not really. But I started with your goal both in length and girth. So I have a lot to work with. But I still managed to injure myself once, gripping the penis too hard and too close to my circumcision scar. So be careful. Those nerves below the glans are very sensitive.

I can grip firmly with Vaseline to do a stretch at the end of a jelq stroke, maybe because of the extra skin gained during extensive hanging. I do recall not being able to do this at all a while back, I imagine guys with the “baseball Bat” effect going on would be able to do this easier.

Well, I stretch six days a week, but that doesn’t mean that its right for everyone to do. I feel that the consistent stretching doesn’t give my ligs a chance to heal in a shortened state. You can be more liberal with your stretching than with your girth exercises as they are less dangerous. However, if you are just starting I would wait at least a couple months before stretching 6 days/week. But stretch duration plays into this equation as well…

I started with the newbie routine, than upped my stretch time to 15 minutes, than 20 minutes, and now I manually stretch for 20 - 30 minutes. Stretching for 5 minutes 6 days/week is probably not as effective as stretching for 20 minutes 4 days/week. So its your call, start slow and increase slow. Is not a good idea just to jump into a more intense routine. Use your best judgement and you’ll be fine. :)
