Avocado oil is better?
I don’t know if there is a perfect lubricant. Water-based lubricants like KY Jelly (and Aloe Vera) dry out fairly quickly. So if you don’t need it to be slick for a long time, or are willing & able to reapply, they can work fine.
Oil-based lubricants last longer. Some are absorbed easily in the skin (like olive oil), and others stay slick longer (like silicone lube). If you’re worried about adverse reactions to the lube, sticking with a cooking oil (Olive, Avocado, Soybean, etc) that you aren’t allergic to might be a good thing to try.
In the middle between water-based and oil-based lubricants are things like skin lotion. They are emulsion of water and oil. That’s what I use. Doesn’t stay slick as long as an oil-based lubricant, but it does last longer than a water-based one.
