Meeting up with fellow PEers

Hi Guys:

This post is way overdue. When I was in London a few months ago, I met up with 2 fellow Thunder guys and one from the Midle East who was there at the same time. We had a few pints and some good conversation, very little about PE but rather to put a face and personalities to the posts I’ve been reading over the past two years. Whenever you’re in a city where there are fellow Thunder members, I encourage you to try and meet up for a drink or lunch. It’s really great getting to know each other (and gossiping about fellow PEers).

After meeting Captnhook and PirateSteve (their real names, I think) I can tell you that the meetings were worth everybit of the anxiety that I went through at that moment.

For me, these guys have turned into real friends. And we spend the vast majority of our times talking or doing the shit that regular friends talk about or do. The PE conversations might have been the initial reasons for the meetings but the other common factors that you have with your other friends is why you keep up the contacts.

I would strongly encourage the other guys to try it.

Guys, go to your user cp at the very tippy top of the page in the dead center. Then click on that and edit your profile through the edit profile button. Fill in your location of at least a state. If your state is big like Texas, feel free to write in the biggest city near you like Dallas or what side of the state you are from like Southern California. Some people put their postal code in rarely. Do what you feel comfortable with. That way people in your region can Private Message you, email you, or set up a chat messenger with you.

You can also go up to those buttons and find edit signature and put something in asking for locals to contact or chat with you too. That way people who didn’t see this thread can run across one of your other posts and read that and contact you if they are interested.

Oh yeah, I will be in New Orleans at the end of the month if anyone is nearby and wants to get together for a beer.

Well there are appx four or five people in the Phoenix area and not one wants to meet for lunch at hooters, I don’t know why so if anyone else gets in the area let me know. :cool:

I’ll be in Phoenix in June (23-27) and would be happy to meet with any of the four to six of you there (even in a Hooters!).
