In my case ther’d be no way I could speak openly about my PE efforts with any of my family members, certainly not. I think that would produce an eartquake and everyone went crazy like hell. I’ve also had quite some difficulties getting my mother in touch with the fact that I have a girlfriend (well, that’s a different story) so you can imagine what the situation about PE would be like.

However, I see no reasons why parents (=experienced people in matters of sexuality) should not talk openly and without discomfort about all matters sexual to their children. A big thumbsup to all of you with open-minded parents in here, there just was plenty to read about in this thread.
What is better: Children get to know all important stuff first-hand from their parents or they secretyl read internet sites where very often information is not quite reliable, even more often wrong? In my opinion, all matters of human sexuality are within the field of responsibility of the parents, amongst them such things as PE as well. My kids later will get to know everything first-hand from their parents, too.
