New member registration closing at 64,000

I am going to close new member registrations when the member total hits 64,000. Not sure how long before I reopen it, but it will be longer than two weeks.

Good lord, that’s a lot of members! How come you want to close it for a while?

Because I have other things to do. And it gives the new members time to settle in, also gives the mods and old timers a break.

I can respect that. It definintely is more fun to visit when you start remembering who’s who also.

Just under the logo on the main page, top left, where it says “members”, clicking on the “members” will bring this info up:

The most recent batch of noobs seems pretty sensible.

Then again, I haven’t been spending much time in the newbie forum, besides doling out the occasional wisdom nugget warning of the horrific effects of masturbation on gains.

Is there a way to tell which member number you are? Like am I 59,800 or what?

I’d remember people based on their avatars. After not visiting for a few months, and most of the avatars have changed… it’s like re-learning everyone all over again.
