dixie;
Spend your seed every now and then. It’s good for your prostate.
I think, in general, that aging is not a bad thing if one stays involved with the life going on around and the lives we all live, privately.
Years back, my Dad retired. He really looked forward to that and planned carefully for retirement in the financial way. But he forgot that he had a good friendship network - so relieved not to do corporate things anymore, he bought one of those Barkalounger chairs and watched TV all day.
Our mother managed to gather all us kids together and say, “Your father is making me crazy. He’s in my kichen all day, under my feet; friends call to play cards, do other things. He watches dumb things on TV, even cartoons. And he’s getting fat.”
Well, it wasn’t easy but we got him (somehow) enthused about playing cards with his friends, then going out and shooting his guns, and fishing and hunting again with friends; and walking around in the woods alone for no reason other than enjoying being there. He wore out at least one dog, even. The dog finally refused to come out of its house for Dad, his little, short legs probably arthritic from climbing trails. Dad dropped 30 lbs. He began to read again. He was quite active. Mom died; one of those diseases. He learned how to do all the household stuff she had done for him during their lives together and lived successfully alone for years.
One has to stay connected.
