oops, another average size question

I know you guys are all sick of the newer members struggling to grasp the concept of the average size. However, after thorough searches, I really couldn’t find for sure what I wanted to know. I’m looking for some sort or chart, distribution curve, or percentile rankings of BPEL most importantly, and girth as well if you know of one. I have read many reports by condom companies, gynecologists, and institutes like Kinsey, but I believe they are all non bone-pressed. Am I right to assume this? If anyone can point me in the direction of an accurate BPEL survey, that would be great.

Also, I don’t know if we’re supposed to be putting other links up here, but I don’t know how else to do it. I looked at the site and it seems to look fairly accurate to me, except the girth aspect looks to be an underestimation. Does anyone know if the length is BP or not? Most of these surveys, and Kinsey as well, they measure the tip of the glans to the area where the shaft meets the pubic region. This is essentially NBP, am I right?

Once again, if anyone knows of an accurate study of BPEL, that would be awesome….to fulfil my deepest insecurities.

I think all scientific penis studies such as the Kinsey etc are done in bone-pressed measurements.

But here’s something I was thinking:
The average length works out to 6”
the average girth works out to 5”

However, just because someone has a long penis doesn’t mean it’s thick, and just because someone has a thick penis doesn’t mean it’s long.
So I think it would be interesting to see a poll that combined both of these in one, so you could see how many skinny long ones there were
and how many thick short ones etc. I think this would make many guys feel better about themsleves.(Because they may be doing well in at least
one dimension.)

How common is it to have good size in both length and girth? I think this may be why girls have commented saying I was big, when I am only above average, but in both length and girth. Thereby making my entire package seem bigger.

You can count on a survey done by a condom company to be nbp. The reason being they are looking to match their condom sizes with the penis showing. It’s about $ to a condom company, so they wouldn’t be messing around with unapplicable bp. There have been a couple of condom surveys I’m aware of.

Self-measurement surveys put the average a bit over 6”. Controlled surveys tend to be less than 6”. I’ve seen some that were well below 6”, in the 5-5.5” range.

Redwood, you say 6” is average BPEL?!? Also, in response to your thoughts of one-dimensional penises, there is a good program found somewhere on this site where you enter length and girth and it calculates volume and then tells you how you compare. I downloaded it, as it is a valuable tool. I’m not sure where to find it however.

The website I provided above puts the average at about 6, same with the Kinsey report. Are you sure those are bone-pressed? Because that would really change things for me, and probably a lot of other readers on this site.

It’s interesting I went to Durex and LifeStyle condom sites and couldn’t find any info on p size, I mean actual reports.
I got these numbers from wikipedia and other websites.
Self-measurement studies indeed tended to give higher numbers for length.
Kinsey - 6.2” to 6.4”
DPSS (BP) - 6.4” (2,545 men, Internet)
Durex - 6.5” (Internet)
Staff-measured studies give smaller numbers
Lifestyles company 2001 - (NBP) 5.877” (300 men measured twice, 2/3 between 5.1 and 6.2) EG -4.972” 75% between 4.5” and 5.5”
UCSF study by Wessells 1996 - 5.1” (60 men)
A study by a Brazilian urologist – 5.7” (150 men)
A German study in 1996 – 5.7”

Girth is almost uniform at 5”

Looking at an BP survey - DPSS and NBP survey - Lifestyles, my guess is that typically measurements are NBP, however when self-measuring, men may tend to press a bit even if NBP is required. My 2c.

Another thing, I would take staff-measured results as conservative ones since the subjects may not be fully erect when measured. (It’s pretty hard to keep a 100% erection in front of 4 people)

After looking at some statistics on the Internet, I’ve got the impression that self-measured studies often have girth results that are too low, because some people confuse girth with width.

I think the figures on that site you linked are fairly accurate, and they specify NBP measurement. Two things stick out to me on that page…one, they say that 42% of men have the greatest girth around the coronal ridge, only 12% have the greatest girth around the base. This seems scewed to me based on what I’ve seen posted in PE forums, that is that many complain about small glans size.

The other thing is, if you look at the erect dick pics in the average column, I’d bet most here would have estimated them to be more than 5.9” - this demonstrates that dick pics are very difficult to accurately judge size. I’d be very interested to show those pics to some females online and ask them what they thought about it - I doubt many would say that they look “average.”

I agree with that penis website with other things it talks about also that aren’t exactly pc.

The Lifestyles condom survey has been discussed here before. It is a nbp survey that came up with 5.9 average length. It’s been debated that many smaller guys would have backed out of being measured, therefore the average size number is skewed upward. Fair enough assumption. A problem I also see is that like so many surveys it doesn’t look comprehensive as it was only measuring folks from one region.

JoeCool,
Well penis volume is interesting, but I’d like to see a poll that had choices like, 6x4.5, 6X5, 6.5.5, 6x6, 7x4.5, 7x5, 7x5.5 etc. so that you could see a bigger picture.

Well whether average it’s 6nbp or 6bp length, it gives you a rough idea. Your never going to have an exact amount when it comes to these things.
Also I’ll note that some of those studies use a drug induced erection, which makes sure they have a full erection when meassuring. (possibly larger.)

AV. Girth to me is always confussing. Im 5 3/8 at the base 4 7/8 mid.

So which measurement do they use in these surveys? On time I heard it was what ever is largest ,but I usally concentrate on mid shaft.

Does anyone know were the girth is measured in these surveys

Is it at the largest point or mid shaft?

My understanding is that for a healthy adult the average is 7.5x6”s.
The average stats for the mods at Thunder’s is 10x8”s, NBP.

Also, thanks to mem and the other tech mods we can see you when you are loggen in to the forums…y’all look really funny doing PE with your tinny lil peckers.
