For a moment you guys had me thinking my own internet was down. The new server seems quite responsive though.

Well, my password said I had been here for over 44 years. If Thunder had the equivalent based upon how long Thundersplace has been up and running then he’s been here 1,315 years. I’d say money well spent. :)

Now I am glad we had a server crash. This new server beats the old one hands down. :up: :up:

We’ve had a new backup solution in place for 24 hours. It’s working well.

We are having a problem with mail to yahoo being rejected, so we've had to stop people signing up with those addresses. If you have a yahoo address and think you might need a password reset soon, you'll need to change your email address or wait until we have another server in place.

We are still investigating options going forward for when this server fails but we don’t want to raise costs because donations have been fairly slow since the financial slow down. If anything we’ll try to reduce costs, to ease the burden on those who make donations (often it’s the same guys).

So generally better and faster. Good. Anyone having a bad time?

You might have noticed the donations thing has popped up and with it comes our new server costs. Previously we were at $258 per month and now we are down to $129 per month. There is some variability in that cost and it may cost less (in which case donations will flow through to the next month) and we may juggle thigs around a bit more.

To some extent, you get what you pay for and this solution is worse than our previous one. In part we are relying on more offline backups than we have in the past and a lesser failover option, so this might be considered an interim but workable solution.

Coming over to our backup server has proved interesting and worked relatively smoothly. It was delayed as much by the time of day of the failure and a long delay in the decision to fail over as anything else. We don’t have automatic failover, that’s really in a price bracket above what reasonable donations would provide us.

Most of the kinks have been worked out and we seem to be running well.

Im not gettinng my notifications in my email now since few days.

I have had a couple of pages that failed to load today just like before the crash. I’m hoping it had something to do with your manipulations mem.

No problems here yet. Still running a lot better than the previous machine.

Yeah, when the pages do load, it is very fast.

Very fast to be exact. Normally on my laptop it took a few seconds to load. Now its almost instantaneous.

This just happened. Took the screen shot and then tried again and got right back on.
