PE Archive

I have the PE Archive cleaned up now so that the pages are a lot more presentable, not perfect but better. When you get a chance, check it out and tell me if you find any screw ups. See if you can tell which pages I html coded from scratch and which I just cleaned up. :D Also, if you have any items that you think might be a good addition to the archive, let me know.

I also added Crucial Technologies to our affiliates list. I have bought from them 4 times. 3 times went as smooth as silk, right product with a great price. The other time I had a problem identifing what type of memory my old Gateway machine needed. So did the sales people and tech people at Crucial. I finally figured it out myself with the help of their online memory FAQ and a visit to the Gateway website to track down my freak motherboard. If you have a newer machine, it is pretty straight forward now. Anyway, you save 10% by ordering online instead of over the phone. They have this Memory Helper that walks you through ordering the correct memory upgrade needed and shows you what options are available and the pricing.

They also sell Compact Flash cards for digital cameras.

The image in the top left corner doesn’t load for me. Come to think of it, I don’t think it ever has.

Well guys, nevermind. Seems Thunder the webmesser has some serious problems with the pages. Funny they work just fine with my NS6 but IE doesn’t seem to like them, usually it is the other way around. Oh well, I’ll figure it out and post here when I think it is ready for another go. Sorry about that.

Interesting, my cable provider has given me a copy of IE 5.5 that won’t work more than 1 window at a time. Fucking cretins.

Anyway, I think I have it fixed now. You guys try it out for me and let me know if I am full of shit. I have pages and images on NS6, NS4.7 and a good copy of IE 5.5 on my old machine., So I’m hoping that I don’t get up in the morning and have five different guys telling me it is all fucked up.

The major problem is that I forget to set the permissions correctly and think because I can see the page OK, everyone should be able to. It just ain’t so!

Well??? Did anybody even take a look at them? I tried them today with a “clean version” of IE 6 after I ripped out that slug that came with the cable company install CD. Seems to be just fine now.

If old Gates would put a page load timer in the bottom of IE 6, I would finally convert from Netscape. I would miss my reload button though. Reload sounds so much more gunnish, refresh sounds like a feminine hygiene product or something.

I was almost afraid to open this thread and read that you could not see any of it. That permission stuff still gives me a hard time, especially because I insist on using this broken down piss poor excuse for a browser called NS6. I hope the Federal Court takes about 5 billion out of Gates’ pocket and gives it to Netscape, maybe then they will figure out how to fix this dam thing.

Did you catch the Mrs. Bib post over on PE Forums? That will end up in the Archive sooner or later.
That woman has to be a saint, to put up with Bigger denting up everything in the house for 2 or 3 years. :)

Yeah, great post from Mrs. Bib. Mr. Bib is a lucky guy to have such a supportive wife. I hope she gives some input again. Definately one for the archive.
