PE flowchart

I made a PE flowchart which might help the people who are new to the whole PE world and are just starting out.

Before posting it in the newbie forum I’ll post it here up for discussion if anyone suggests changes or something. :)

It’s too big to attach so I used ImageShack.

I think it’s quite easy to follow. :)

That’s a pretty awesome chart man. Only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t espouse finding what works well for YOU, but otherwise it’s on point.

That’s what PIs are for. Besides, this is to help newbies start off. After 2-4 months of PE everyone should know how to use the search function and do on their own.

Nice. However, I didn’t show even a whisper of a gain until after I had increased time and/or intensity 3 or 4 times. Therefore, if my experience is a guide, I think one needs to regularly increase time and/or intensity after beginning a PE routine until either 1) gains start or 2) PIs turn negative.

MM, that’s exactly what the flow chart would advise you to do — keep increasing time/intensity until you do begin to gain (with measurements a month apart).

Oh yeah. My bad. I think I increased time/intensity every 2 weeks at first. Waiting a full month seems like a long time in the beginning. Do you agree?

ModestoMan, point of that flowchart is that one should be checking on his PIs daily and measure monthly. If you measure, do not gain but have positive PIs and then make the routine more intensive, you still shouldn’t measure until one month is up. Two weeks is too early for most people to see gains even after intensifying the routine. There are exceptions, of course, but they’re in a minority. :)

That’s fantastic. I hope it can be incorporated in an article in the future or placed somewhere easily accessible for future new comers.
