The point of this thread is to reduce the number of such threads. When the topic of average length comes up, as it often does here among newbies, a simple link to this thread provides as comprehensive of an answer as they’re going to find.

It seems that there’s ample evidence to conclude that 5-6” is an average length, using ordinary (non-PEers’) measurement techniques. If you have reason to think this is false, you’re welcome to add something to the discussion.

You seem to have missed the “S” part of FSL (stretched). Many PEers report FSLs longer than their ELs, but this is probably due to extreme stretching; the studies’ data suggest that a more moderate FSL, conducted by medical personnel, tends to be slightly shorter than EL.
