Powerjelq a rip off?

Ok, well I noticed at the powerjelq site that it is 60 bucks, this seems like a rip off to me taking into account what it basically is. It also bothers me that at the bottom it says “device and method patent pending” what the hell, pantenting the name and method of Jelq that is absurd!

You can make one cheaply by using canning tongs, some tape and pipe insulation. Here is post describing how to do it.

To summarize: Buy a cheap jar lifter/canning tong gizmo. Wrap the handles with enough tape to increase their girth so 1/2” pipe insulation will fit over them snuggly. Put the insulation over the taped handles and glue the seams together. Done. The pre-split, pre-glued pipe insulation works great for this - just peel and stick. Otherwise use glue suitable for the task.

Tongs: $7 or so if you don’t snag them from mom’s or grandma’s cupboard.
Insulation: Under $2 for 6 feet at a Mega-hardware store
Tape: doesn’t everyone have tape? If not, you should get some. Duct tape is truly great stuff. I’ve heard it makes the world go ‘round.

Wow. I didn’t know the price had escalated so quickly. I bought mine about 2 years ago for about $29.95 ( now it’s $59.95). At my price, I said okay, but with the price doubled I don’t think I’d buy it now. Although I had good girth results using the PJ, and I still use it occasionally for variety, I think it’s become a bit overpriced. Others at Thunders have already written on how one can make the same product using canning tongs from the store for less than 1/4 the current price.
