Question about bone pressing measurements

When you “bone press” to take a length measurement, are we supposed
to lightly press the ruler against ourselves, firmly, or press very very hard?

If I press very very hard I can measure exactly 8 inches, but it seems
as though I’m “cheating”.

I’d like to post some pics, but I’d like it to be measurements that everyone
would consider accurate.

It’s easier to get consistent measurements if you press all the way to the bone (as hard as you can). Doing it any other way lets in variables that could give you false progress or regression in your length.

Regarding “cheating” by pressing hard, I felt the same way, in the beginning. (If you click the links in my signature, you will see this sentiment in the first post in that thread.) But this was because I was relating my bone-pressed measurement to other people’s measurements, which is not the purpose of a bone pressed measurement. The purpose of using BP measurements is to chart your own gains in the most consistent way possible.

I’d say somewhere between firmly and hard; but maybe not very, very hard. In your case, how much of a difference in measurement does it make?

Has there ever been a really clear description of how hard to press, or could we come up with one? Clearly, there’s some upper limit to how hard to press, or it would end up being a truly to-the-bone measurement as the ruler broke through skin.

For PE purposes of measuring individual progress, what’s most important is to be consistent. I think there’s also a certain reality to BP measurements, as it probably reflects usable penis length when thrusting hard. So maybe that suggests a standard for how hard to press; as hard as you’d possibly imagine pressing against a partner’s pubic bone?

Starting, summer '06: 6" EL, 6.5" BPEL, 5.5" EG / Currently: Approximately .4" length and .25" girth gains / Stretched ligs .5" - .6", increasing PBFL and flacid hang

Goal: 7.25" BPEL x 5.75" EG, currently over HALF WAY THERE! on length and ACHIEVED GIRTH!

In response to FrenomFellow’s question, the difference between firmly
pressing and pressing very very hard is 1/4 of an inch.

Firmly I’m 7 3/4, very very hard I’m 8.

More importantly, place the ruler so that it is tipped - not lying flat against your pubic bone, but tilted vertically and straight out. That way you won’t get better measurements due to “peeling off the ligs” (i.e. better consistency).

I know this is an old thread but I found it while using that good ol’ “Search” function. Mgus, what do you mean by “peeling off the ligs” why is having the ruler lying flat not as good as tilting it vertically. I’ve personally found tilting it vertically makes the measurement longer than having the ruler flat but I’m interested to hear more of an explanation from you. Thanks.

Ah yes, the good old Thunder’s Place Standard Measuring Method 2.0! :)

The difference between a “regular” bone-pressed (ruler flat on penis and pushed all the way in) measurement and the vertical ruler technique (touching the pubic bone) is about half an inch for me.
