I shave every 2nd day whilst having a shower. I found conditioner works well. I have been shaving all over for years even my ass. I have never liked pubs. Gets in the way. There is nothing worse than getting pubs in the mouth. Spoilt the whole experience.
I do both/either. They both work fine, for me.
Which I do is based on whether the razor is already wet or not.
I always shave dry, with an old fashioned ‘safety razor’ - the type that has a blade that looks like a razor blade should. Only slightly nicked myself a couple of times in many years of doing it. It just works best for me. I always apply some moisturiser afterwards though.

I sort of shave dry in that I don’t use shaving cream, but I use virgin coconut oil to jelq and then shave when its oiled up. Works pretty well, and sort of keeps the blades oiled so they seem to stay sharper longer.
I’ve tried using a shave oil before but my issue with shave oil is that it mats down the hair and shave cream/foam lifts the hairs so you catch more hair with each pass of the razor.
