Can’t remember exactly which inner piece I ended up with and I gave all my molds away. :(
Thanks for the explanation, glad I bought the right pipe!
I made my first sleeve a couple days ago and given that I messed up a little on the construction it still turned out alright and I’m very satisfied with the durability. I used it with the VacADS headpiece in order to do some manual stretches (the sleeves that came with it ran out of steam after months of use) and the grip was excellent and I could feel the stretch at the base of the shaft.
I bought the end caps that are rounded as I didn’t take the time to see if any had flat ends, so trying to drill out a perfectly centered piece was hard given I don’t do a lot of woodwork or other tasks requiring precise drilling. Also I ended up making the whole slightly too big so I used some Teflon tape in order for the bolt to stay put when it was pushed into the bottom cap. I bought a threaded 1/2" by 2" bolt (going to try and find a bolt without threads the next time I visit Home Depot) and it was a bit of a bitch trying to get it inside the 3/8" pipe. I ended up tapping it in with a hammer and using a monkey wrench to screw the pipe onto the bolt. Unfortunately this put the pipe at a slight angle which made the sleeve a little thicker on one side even with some repositioning once the silicon mixture started to harden. It didn’t hurt the functionality of the sleeve but I’ll get it right when I make the next mold. I bought enough pieces for two sets of each size mentioned in the initial post.
I purchased 6" pipe and cut the PVC to 6" as well since I wanted both ends open and didn’t have to fill past the top of the inner piece. I used a tablespoon to measure out equal parts and found that 4 tablespoons or roughly 50ml of each component was nearly the exact amount needed to fill the 6" mold, with just a slight bit extra. I didn’t have a perfect seal on all parts so there was a slight bit of leakage, but as you can imagine once it sets up the rest isn’t going anywhere. This was mostly due to the drilling of the end piece and that I didn’t make 100% perfect cuts with the razor blade when cutting the two outer mold pieces in half. Making one small slice after another to cut the PVC is easier said than done. I may use a hacksaw next time.
I allowed the mixture to setup for 8 hours before I took off the rubber bands used to keep the outer pieces of the mold sealed together and since I couldn’t remove the metal pipe from the mold, given that the bolt is permanently screwed in, I rolled from the top downward as far as I could in order to separate the sleeve from the pipe. Once I got that loose I started to work the end near the cap until the sleeve was loose enough to slide off. I gave it a few stretches, rolled it up as if I were going to get ready to put it on the VacADS head piece and was quite satisfied with what I had. I left it overnight since and have used it for several stretching sessions without any problems whatsoever. The 3/8" inner mold setup makes a heavy duty sleeve but it can be rolled, you just can’t be as lax when holding it in place when preparing to let it "snap" onto the penis.
I’m curious if adding food coloring to the solution will have any negative effects, in case I wanted to create a green or blue sleeve, lol.
