'Size Matters' references in society

I’m calling on the men here at Thunder’s to help me and my friend, TheThickOne, with a project. We are doing a study on penis size and society’s viewpoints. One part is going to mention all the ways people are bombarded with these messages on a daily basis.

For example, near my house there is a big billboard for a convenience store that sells 3 different sizes of coffee. It has the 3 cups and says “Size Matters” in huge letters. This would be an example. If you know of any similar billboards that have “Size Matters” or any other reference to penis size, please send me a PM with the whereabouts of the sign. We haven’t decided whether or not we will be traveling to the sites and capturing the footage ourselves or if we will be using pictures. We are located in the Mid Atlantic region so any signs around here would be best, but if the sign is far away you could still help out by sending us a picture. Again, please PM me if you know of any of these signs or billboards. Also, if you have any other ideas for referencing this topic, please either PM that to me or post right here in this thread. For example, there are now several popular country songs over the last few years that have blatent references to this, magazine ads, ect.

Our project is still in it’s very early, infant stages so I can’t share a whole lot about what all we will be doing, but as things progress I will be sure to keep the members here posted. Thanks in advance to anyone who would like to help us out.

I hate those gimmicky “size matters” references used in consumer-product advertising. There’s typically nothing clever about the cliche, and it’s no good for the many men out there who are hung up about their penis size.

It’s going to be more than just data, will have pictures, interviews, maybe video clips, so I don’t think I can post it on this site per se, but members here will be told how or where to check it all out.

Agreed. I think it’s completely tasteless and at this point it’s not a very original idea anymore.

With Thunder’s approval, these are just a few off the top of my head:
-check out the music scene, Madonna’s “like a virgin” comes to mind
-Tropic Thunder “big dick playa” scene, Tom Cruise tries to flatter a guy by saying he has a big dick
-Sex in the City “Women care about nice arms, great eyes, big dick!” I don’t know the context
-Websites (like this or others) that talk about penis size. The internet is no longer marginalized media.
-The movie “Teeth” (story of a woman with teeth in her vagina, seriously). Doctors are reattaching a young boy’s penis and the comment “Why bother” is made implying the a small penis is worthless.
-In The Watchmen movie Dr. Manhattan has a large penis and in the original graphic novel it was normal/small. Hmmmm…
-This seems obvious, sorry, walk into a sex shop and photograph the dildo selection. I went in with my girlfriend one time and it was irritating the hell out of me.

I wish I could give you more. For some reason, I feel like this is a common phenomenon in Western culture, I just can’t think of specific examples.

Family Guy episode entitled, "And the Wiener Is… "

More an example of "Lack of size matters". (Australian) Taxpayer money being spent on an ad campaign that equated dangerous driving/speeding with having a small dick. When the ads were released, there was a lot of surrounding publicity explaining that the pinky finger gesture was supposed to mean a less endowed man.

PS: When I was searching for the ad on youtube, I came across a parody of it which is quite clever:

*In the Christina Aguilera song "Candyman" there’s the line "He’s a one stop shop, with a real big.." and then there’s a little moan or something. In concerts she even kinda points to a male dancer’s groin when singing this. Kind of "explicit" for this kind of kid friendly music.

*Back in the 90’s there was the minor dance hit "Short Dick Man"

*Lilly Allen has the the song "Not Big". I also saw an interview with her on youtube (couldn’t find it now) where the reporter asks what kind of guys have a chance with Lilly Allen, and she says "Men with big penises".

I’m not sure if you’re interested in a bunch of movie and tv references, but that’s the easiest to come up with:

*Bedazzled: the scene where Brendan Frasier is a huge basketball player and the female reporter wonders if he’s huge "everwhere", and loses interest when he turns out to be small.

*American Pie (the first one): The girl who wants to know if Finch has a date for the prom appearantly just because there’s a rumor that he’s "equipped"

*The big-dicked slave scene from "Rome" with the "large penis is always welcome" comment (somewhere in season 1, I think)

*I think there’s a Simpsons episode where Ned Flanders is nude for some reason and even though it’s "pixelated" you can see it’s ridiculously huge. :p

*I think there’s at least three episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" that have some size stuff in them..

I’m kinda interested in this subject myself, so I can probably think of more later..
