Sleeping habits vs. gains?

Sleeping habits vs. gains?

Hey fellow PEers!

I know that normal muscle training (like weight lifting in the gym) or running demands that you sleep more and eat healthier to get physical gains.

I think this is a very open discussion, but wouldn’t it be logical if (good) sleeping habits affect gains? I mean, it is under the sleep our bodies rest and maintenance period begins.

So, take a look at these questions:

1. How many hours/day do you sleep?
2. How much have you gained and in how long time?

(optional question below)
3. How healthy are your eating habits? (1-5)
(1: bad as hell - no vegetables, minerals, vita mines etc.
3: Normal - vegetables once a day, but no supporting pills
5: excellent - all of above + omega 3 and other healthy stuff)

For me:
1. 7.5 hours
2. 0.1” in length, 0” in girth in 1.5 months.
(3. 4 - good)

I haven’t PE-ed long enough to actually contribute to these questions, but it would be interesting if (or) sleeping habits could effect gains.

1. Seven hours tops. Usually less. 4-6 is usual.
2. I have gained about .25” long and .75” girth in less than three months. Strange since I’m doing jelqs which I was hoping for length more than girth, but either way is fine.
3. Eating habits fine. Eat as much as I can for bodybuilding. Take two multivitamins a day. Physically fit.

Extra since I don’t think sleep would be a deciding factor: Workout every other day. PE 2 on, 1 off. I’m 18 still (the good life) and I heard on the radio on LoveLine (sex questions hotline) and the doctor said most guys stop growing at about 21. So maybe my age has a little to do with progress of gains. Not sexually active, GF and I abstain. Masturbate infrequently. I’m stressed out a lot from school work and part time job. No medical problems at all.

EJ

1 7 hours, in weekend 9

2 3.5cm length, 3cm girth in 9 months

3 4.5 (really good but not excellent)

There is no doubt it effects gains.
The longer you sleep, the longer you body heals, and more throughoutly.
Sleep for 8-9 hours for 3 months, see what happens to gains.

Ok, maybe I will do a study. It is time to dust off the old Excel skills.

Sleep and Gains

I usually don’t need more than 6 hours of sleep, but since my increased workout intensity plus PE, I now sleep from 7-8. It seems to me that the body knows exactly what it needs as I retain less water and my penis gets harder when I get more sleep.

Good initiative. We have to lobby so that the people give us the sleeping time and gain/month.
