My experience was about the same. I didn’t sweat though. I did squirm a bit as the lydocaine pumped through the vas. I kep anticipating a sharper and much worse pain, but it never happened. That was really the worst part and not nearly that bad. I’m so glad you posted this so I was kind of prepared.

I asked my doc if I could get the all clear after 20 some odd ejaculations but he said no. I was to submit sampes at 6 weeks and then again at 12 weeks post op, to get the all clear! DARN! That’s 3 months from now!

I was talking about the spots from jelqing, clamping, or whatever.

The worst part for me was when he cut the first vas.. in fact it was the only pain I remember at all. He injected the second one twice so it didn’t have any sensation when it was cut.

Ah yes, the samples, you have to get them in there in a certain amount of time, and try not to have the “Cat that ate the canary” face.

Yeah the injection was the owrst part. After that I felt nothing more than some tugging and pulling. That was weird.

How much time do I have to get the sample to the clinic? Should I bring my wife to give me a bj in the hospital restroom? That would be a lot more fun! Then that cat who ate the canary look would be on her instead of me!

LMAO! I think it’s a matter of a few hours, but I’m not 100% sure. It’s just so weird walking in there with a brown bag and handing it off, and leaving.

They give you a clear plastic bag and a specimen cup to take home after the procedure and bring back a few months later. They didn’t mention anything about the restroom or BJs.

When I had mine done, I don’t remember there being a specific time frame to get the sample to the doc. However, I have less than a 64 k memory ;) I thought they said that it didn’t matter time wise because there shouldn’t be any sperm in the semen to be dead or alive. If the procedure failed, which is very rare, the sperm would be there and dead. If successful, there wouldn’t be any sperm at all. Anyone have at least a 65 k memory?

Seems there are different approaches. My doctor seems very conservative. I think waiting 6-12 weeks is excessive, because I’m sure in 3 months I’ll have more than 20 ejaculations….hmmmm… gotta calculate that though.

Just get the 20 ejaculations out of the way. There’s a very small chance that you’re still fertile after that. Go get tested in 6 weeks/1.5 months like the doc said.

I saw the guy cut the vas. shorten it, burn both ends, and tie them off. Chances are so remote that I didn’t need to get tested to know I was infertile.

Okay, so I’ve had 2 ejaculations since the snip. Gotta keep track. Sigh, I still think I’d better follow the docs orders. Gotta get that all clear from him. Sigh… 3 months!

This is what I was referring to about waiting Ram. You don’t hafta worry about doing it onsite in the hospital restroom. LoL I waited my 15 ejaculations (does seem your doc is more conservative but nothing wrong with that) and I called the office to see if the doc was in that day to check things out under the microscope. When she said yes, I took care of business, dropped it off an hour later, and then had to wait for a couple hours for them to call with my results. :)

I was laying down, but it was inclined enough that I could see most of what went on. I think they asked whether I wanted to see. Sure, why not!
