What exactly is edging?

I’ve done the search, but nothing actually tells me what it is, just has the word in the thread. Can someone please explain? I believe it’s used to last longer, and you do it by masturbating until the point of ejaculating and then stopping so you don’t, but I’m not quite sure. Thanks for any help
