Why does base girth measure bigger

I know I asked this question a while back, but can’t remember the reasoning. Why is it that base girth can look the exact same and even smaller than other parts of the penis, and still measures larger? Has anyone else experienced this?

Scientifically speaking the average penis is wedged shaped makng it larger at the base than the tip for easier penetration. The head is said to be somewhat wedge shaped to scoop out a rival male’s semen.

I think I get what you’re talking about being that the day or so after a pe session the middle of your erection swells temporarily making it appear larger than the rest. Even then the base still expands faster than say the head due to the greater demand of blood rushing in and out. If you wait a few days everything usually portions regular again.

UkranianTitan, it seems that way because you are looking down on your penis. Take a picture of the bottom side of your dick and it will be easier to see how the girth is actually distributed throughout the shaft.

No this is something that happens all the time. Even when I look from the bottom, it doesn’t really look any thicker. The thing that may may make the difference is the vein that sticks out beneath that fades as it gets closer to the top. I guess I count this because it’s a pretty thick, tough vein if that makes sense.

Are you talking about the corpus spongiosum? Mine somewhat tapers from the base to the head of my penis.

Yeah, it is the corpus spongiosum. It starts out pretty thick near the base and tapers off.

Why is base girth important ? It’s way more important with a glans girth .

Whys that?

Not sure about everyone else, but my cross-sectional shape on my base is more cirular and mid-shaft is oval shaped. The width looks the same from the top view.

Look up C-V distance and your question will be answered. My wife and I measured and her distance is less than an inch, but my girthier base makes clit contact almost inevitable.

Too much length is not really a good thing sometimes. In certain positions the vagina shortens and sex can be uncomfortable with a long penis. Plus, with a shorter penis there can be more stimulation between a man’s pubic area and a woman’s clitoris - a longer penis can prevent direct contact because it can’t penetrate fully into the vagina.

Some women prefer a thicker penis and I can understand that, because there are two lengths of clitoral tissue that extend under the skin from the clitoral head right down to the sides of the vagina. These bands of tissue swell up during sexual activities and and could be more strongly stimulated by a thicker penis. These bands are partially responsible for the feeling of tightness at the vaginal opening that happens during arousal.

I think it is also psychological - there is a sense of fullness that some women seem to find enjoyable on a certain mental level. I am not someone who is personally sold on the difference that comes from a thicker girth, but I think some women care.

I agree with the woman in “bohm’s” woman comment; for my wife, girth is more important then length for the same reasons.

Wayne cider, are you saying that your base is thicker than the rest? My midshaft and upper shaft are more oval shaped.
