Why "progressive bends" SHOULD deliver huge gains

I think that if the finger didn’t have a bone in it and you did this enough, it WOULD stretch.

Can anyone here confirm or deny that a routine where the only thing they did for girth was bends/slinkies/etc (ie no clamping, pumping, horses, etc) produced good results? Is there anyone out there, for example, who gained a lot of girth in one year basically by doing some kind of bends?

I don’t want to hijack it either, but remember that this is the same guy who originally claimed on mos that he was 12”bpel and he had that ridiculous picture right up there on the website. Now he has supposedly shrunk down to 10.5”. I’m sure he has gained a lot, but nowhere near 5 inches. Wouldn’t you be taking pics left and right if you were that big?

I’ve been doing bends exclusively now for a few months—mainly because my air clamp broke. But, I am sure that I am making better gains than when I was combining clamping with bending. To each his own. Try it, it may prove more effective for you. Everyone is different.

So you feel they have been more effective than clamping? How much time are you spending doing bends exclusively compared to time you spent doing both bending and clamping?

If you put a bend in a metal pipe, the total length of the pipe may not increase, but the pipe wall on the outside of the curve is under tension and lengthens, and the wall on the inside of the curve is put under compression and shortens. In a metal pipe, the wall lengthening would be accompanied by thinning, since the total amount of material doesn’t increase.

Interesting proposal dangleman… this may explain why my base girth is close to 1” larger than my midshaft.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always bent my penis while erect at the base- such as when I was a kid having nocturnal erections. I would sleep on my stomach, and I didn’t like “crushing” my dick, so I kept working at it and ended up bending it straight down while I’d continue to sleep erect.

I can push my penis straight down even now while erect, to the sides, rotate it around in circles, etc. from the base and yes I feel an inner stretching of the tissues around the base.

The thing that grabs me is that my base girth is just so prominent, it looks almost un-natural. Not really much of a taper… think of a wedding cake, or the sears tower (lol). The base is prominent - there is no taper such as a pyramid or traffic cone would have- and this thicker area is the exact area that “gives” and is able to be bent in any way while erect.

Just an interesting correlation I noticed to your post. Try it- you may be onto something.

(…but keep in mind I’ve been at this subconscious base bending for 10,15,18+ years ever since I first remember getting nocturnal erections while sleeping on my stomach).

mravg - following on your point, with a dick, the compression on the inside of the curve would not cause shortening due to the nature of dick meat vs. metal, but the outside of the curve WOULD stretch and lengthen - not thinning, but growing new cells and lengthening as a result of the stretching - something a pipe can’t do. Right?

I have no doubt that it CAN work…its merely a question of 1) “will it work for you” and 2) Will you injure yourself while doing it.

When I was doing vacuum hanging and swinging the wt, I found I got fairly rapid gains at the base…the mechanism is exactly the same as bends. Also, by pulling and bending, you get the best of both worlds…in my opinion.

Like the pipe analogy, yes the opposite wall is stretched, while the concave wall is compressed but because of it being living tissue…doesn’t shorten. So if you bend in all directions equally, you should expand the entire section.

Then, you have to make sure you move up and down the shaft because it is a fairly local effect…hence Wt282 base being expanded while the rest of the shaft isn’t.

If you move your pivot point up and down the shaft you can create the effect where needed.

The next question relates to the PIs…how much is enough and how much is too much. That will determine your success in this proceedure, and actually in any method.

Its really strange how some methods give us a wider range of possible success than others. Some guys can do just about anything and grow, some have a very narrow window of force/time to see growth.

Me for example, even 5 minutes of 3 in hg pumping will cause shrinkage, where I can clamp for 15 minutes of high pressure and have a larger flaccid for the day…go figure!

The problem comes in when say you need 15 minutes of 3 in hg in pumping to see growth, but yet it stresses the tissues out too much.

Theoretically, any method…properly applied…reading PIs carefully, should produce gains. But in practice I think some methods may have a very narrow window of force/time for gains for each individual…hence we see many guys who have no success. Yet, they may try something new and PRESTO…GAINS!

Anyway, back to the topic…I KNOW this method can work…it just falls into the higher risk catagory, so approach it with respect and patience.

Never push this one into the pain zone. And if you have a soreness that hasn’t gone away by the time of your next workout…take enough time off until it does. It probably is some connective tissue that has been damaged, you don’t want to blow it out by adding more damage.

We want micro trauma…not macro trauma. Which translates to damage in microscopic terms and not let them progress to full blown injuries.

I picture that when you bend your dick, the tissue on the concave side would be under compression and would “accordian” rather than thicken like a metal pipe wall, due to the differences in properties of the two. The metal pipe wall would eventually accordian, or crease, as well.

The outside (convex) curve of your dick is under tension, and stretches. I imagine some wall thinning of the dermis and tunica, by “opening up” of the collagen matrix. The tension apparently causes some biochemical response by the cells to produce more cells, or more collagen, depending on the cell (the basic theory of stress/growth in exercise). Or purhaps girth gains don’t come from new growth, but simply from rearranging the collagen by putting it under tension for long enough periods that it becomes looser and less able to resist the outward blood pressure during an erection.

Back to the pipe bending, I worked in a chemical factory where the normal way of making a 90 degree turn with pipe is to connect to a 90 degree fitting (elbow). We had reasons not to use these fittings (elimination of welds), so we tried bending some pipe and then cut the pipe to see the effect on the wall, and it was a very substantial thinning on the outside.

A few weeks ago I started doing this exercise while clamped. During my first two weeks I only spent 20 minutes on them after performing O-bends. This week I dropped the O-bends and now do 30 minutes and I push the to the edge of pain. I currently only exercise 3 days per week and after my 2nd workout this week I noticed a difference.

The wife and I were messing around and I repositioned myself and noticed that my penis looked girthier. I haven’t measured and I won’t until around January, but I am confident that I will be pleased when I do.

I currently hang for one 30 min set (swinging the weight) followed by one 30 min set of clamped bends. For the record here the clamping routine:

I apply the clamp while fully erect. After my penis gets to that not so rigged state, I begin my bends.
down at the base, middle & below the glans
down & left then right at the base
up & left and right at the base
left & right at the base
left & right at the middle
left & right at the below the glans

up at the base, middle & below the glans
down & left then right at the base
up & left and right at the base
left & right at the base
left & right at the middle
left & right at the below the glans

All bends held for 30 sec except bends to the right are held for 40 sec to help correct a slight leftward bend. You may notice that I have more base work. This is because of a slight taper in my penis. After I go through all of these bends I reestablish a firm erection and keep it for several minutes be working through the bends a second time. After my second time through I establish a firm erect again for several minutes before removing the clamp.

I also try to wear an ADS several hours a day.

VERY interesting input, guys. I am enjoying the knowledge you are bringing to this thread. I must say that suddenly I seem to be getting some significant girth gains. I am now measuring 1/3-inch bigger in girth than I was 4 months ago when I started, and this is measuring BEFORE a PE session, not when I am bloated afterwards.

You are right, something is happening, Dangle. Good for you…keep it up.

I have to side with Mravg on the physics aspect of this however. Physics can not lie - but we can misinterpret what we see easy enough.

I suspect that there are enough differences in the constitution of the penis versus a ductile metal pipe that you may be onto something as well, Dangle, as to how you are getting gains from the bio-mechanical response.

Based on what I have been reading about collagen lately, I would think that your body may be more responsive than some to these triggers. Depending on your personal nutrition and genetics the collagen that rebuilds/replaces the cells (damaged during PE) could be more resistant to expansion - like scar tissue - or less resistant to expansion with weaker interlinking cellular bonds. If the latter is the case - you may see some dramatic gains only to realise that your penis does not get as rigid during a full erection. Why? Because the supporting lattice of the tunica may be thinner or otherwise less sound structurally.

Tell us what your eating habits, sleep cycles, and water consumption are like.
Do you smoke, workout, do drugs, drink a lot of caffeine? This info may provide some clues to what the rest of us could do to see the same results, or possibly determine that you are responsive due primarily to genetic reasons.

Goon - I eat good food for the most part - I do drink every night, maybe 1/2 to 1 bottle of wine, but am VERY healthy. No smoking, etc. Moderate exercise.

Remember that this exercise is NEW for me so I can’t claim gains directly from it! I just can “feel” the intense stretch of the tunica on the bend side when I do it, and as I move this bend point up and down and around the shaft, feel I am getting an amazing stretch that not even hanging heavy weights could do. I have a feeling the tunica would not thin over time - that it would repair itself in a way that would maintain its thickness.

Well, without anything more specific to go on I’ll say kudos to you, and I’ll wait and see if something else develops in a few weeks or months.

I hope you are right - I have little reason to think differently.

I have done bends like these now and then, but never consistently enough to gain much. Of course, I have revamped my routine more times than I can count. I guess I am not a very patient man.
