I’ve made several orders from Total Man. They offer good value for the money. Shipping out of Australia is high, and they messed an order up once. But they responded and fixed it immediately, and they’ve always been responsive to questions by email. Despite the order glitch, that gives them considerable favor with me.
I use their previous-design vacuum extender, and I use the vacuum bell for hanging as well. They sell a set of four bells of different sizes for only a few dollars over the single-bell price; I recommend that. A good fit in the bell helps prevent vacuum blisters, and if you wind up taping, you might want a different size bell.
Sleeves don’t last forever. Standard sizes are 20, 23, and 25mm, with 20mm being the most common. I buy cheap made-in-China sleeves on eBay. Order one of two spare sleeves as soon as you’re sure what size you need.
Once you have a properly-sized vacuum bell, it can work with a hanger, extender, or all-day (or all-night) stretcher.
I’m not impressed with how the Bathmate works. A plain tube and a hand or electric pump with a gauge will let you pump to a known vacuum. Remember, you’re not making any gains if you’re healing from blisters.
I have a Bib hanger. It allows more tension than I can get with a vacuum hanger, which is limited by blisters. I blister easily, unfortunately. The downside is that wrapping is a pain in the ass and having to remove it every 20 minutes to restore circulation is twice the pain in the ass. The Bib costs more than the Total Man or other compression hangers, but it has massive tech support, both in the archives here and Bib’s forum after he set it up.
