Yes, it’s a concentration of tunica so to speak. But you still need to pull your dick, there no real difference in what you would do to get any other length gains. Anytime you stretch/hang you are automatically putting stress on the tunica.

And I agree, this is the big limiting factor for length gains.

Which part of the pic? I can’t see what you are speaking of. The only tissue that is said to be stronger is the fundiform ligament, but it doesn’t run to the whole length of the penis, just at the base.

I’ve circled the area

Oh thanks, you was referring to the other pic. But I just see the two CC meeting, not a chord or anything. Ok I suppose we’ll just remain with each own personal figure. :)

Marinera: I stand by my theory that us short-septum (whatever) people have overly separated CCs - with tough, inflexible tunica tissue clumping above and between, like dried caulking. We’re all reporting the same symptoms, so clearly we have *some* problem you luckily don’t.

Meatplow’s report of having two totally separate CCs seems to support this: maybe having a gap between your CCs, which then gets filled up with tougher tunica tissue, is a big factor leading to hard length gaining? Can any other septum-clumpers confirm/deny this?

I haven’t gained length at all yet, just base girth and an upward curve - which would make sense if this upper-septum-clump is staying still while he rest of the tissue grows outward around it.

I am pretty sure what you guys are all describing is the fact that the septum is two sets of fibers. It IS part of the tunica, but it has one layer that goes lengthwise (the superficial component) and the deeper structure which is inside it, and consists of a layer which has it’s "grain" oriented perpendicular to the superficial layer. This type of arrangement of fibers makes almost any structure stronger. This layering technique is the secret behind high tensile strength composites used in boat hulls and plane fuselages (some fiberglass, some other materials) and pretty much any woven or interlaced material. So these anecdotal reports that it seems to offer more resistance than the other parts of the penis like the regular tunica seem very reasonable to me.

Check out the illustrations on the Wiki page for penis septum or try this image which has an accompanying description of how septum tissue is differentiated histologically: Testis and Ducts | Microanatomy Web Atlas | Gwen V. Childs, Ph.D.

Since the septum is also a midline structure in the penis and you can observe the exterior of the septum on your scrotum easily, and feel that it is a ridge and thicker than the rest of the skin of your testicles, it makes quite a bit of sense that the same structure in the penis would be proportionally thicker or more dense than surrounding tissues.

In the pic posted by NiteFly69 in post #33, I can clearly see what appears to be the dorsal thickening. This is also the limiting factor in my penis that prevents it from stretching to a longer flaccid stretched length.

To me, this is what we struggle to elongate. Everything else tags along and gets lengthened after this “cord”, or whatever you want to call it, becomes longer.

You may be right about *why* the septum is tougher (crisscrossing fibers), but us stubby-upper-septum people all seem to report a tough *cord* on the *top* of the shaft, not a sheet of tough tissue bisecting the shaft, or anything down by the scrotum.

For me, at least, it doesn’t seem to extend through the centre of the dick like the septum in the diagram, which looks like a sheet of fat going lengthwise through a steak: mine’s a very distinct cylinder, top and centre of the shaft - like a pencil made of leather, but only really noticeable when stretched.

Except for Meatplow, who seemed to be saying it was right in the middle? Clarification, Mr. Plow?

Foryourprivacy, you are explaining things well.

This is the connective tissue in my penis that needs to be lengthened. Everything else will follow, in my opinion.

Marinera, do you have a “cord” like this? Do some lucky people reading this have no idea what we’re talking about?

Are there PEers who get a feeling of stretch/tautness throughout their entire shaft meat, and not just a pencil width at the central top part?

Judging by some posts, I’m not sure this cord is universal.

Thanks, Kojack. I’m trying to clarify if this “cord” is something only a few of us unlucky guys suffer: looking through past threads, some people don’t seem to “get” it.

……….

I do have a cord but I never thought it could be a limit to anything. The whole ‘septum is a lmiting factor’ doesn’t make any sense to me, but if one believes that actually this is true than it becomes a self-veryfieng profecy.

The function of the septum is just to keep together the 2 CC so they don’t go apart; it doesn’t make sense, from a functional point of view, that it could limit elongation. Also: the septum seems to be thicker on the underside, so if it was harder to deform, you should develop a downward curve, not a upward curve.

I can’t exclude that some people have plaques of fibrous tissue or other speficities that can limit their gains. But the idea that, generally speaking, septum is a limiting factor for many or most of people is just another PE myth, lke LOT, pulling out inner penis, ejaculation hindering gains, etc.

Of course if some kind of evidence is offered, I’ll change my mind about.

Just because there’s no medical proof, doesn’t make it a myth. From my POV, reading through these posts there is definitely a clear logic to it. Thicker tissue=tougher=less stretchable=limiting factor. How can that be a myth? It’s physics on the most basic level.

My “cord” gets thicker further up on the shaft, at the base it’s the smallest, anyone else have this too? Perhaps if you could find a weak spot like that along the shaft where the “cord” is thinner and then apply a fulcrum to that spot when stretching/hanging it would be optimal.

"The corpora cavernosa penis are surrounded by a strong fibrous envelope consisting of superficial and deep fibers. The superficial fibers are longitudinal in direction, and form a single tube which encloses both corpora; the deep fibers are arranged circularly around each corpus, and form by their junction in the median plane the septum of the penis.

This is thick and complete behind, but is imperfect in front, where it consists of a series of vertical bands arranged like the teeth of a comb; it is therefore named the septum pectiniforme."

http://en.wikip edia.org/wiki/S … um_of_the_penis

A thicker but imperfect thing, although thicker, is it tougher or weaker than a perfect one, what your physics’ mastering says about?

"There are no tendons or ligaments in the visible shaft of the penis. The two corpora cavernosa share a common wall, called the septum, that some guys can feel. It runs down the center of the shaft above the corpus spongiosum. It is tunica material and should not be any more or less stretchable than any other part of the tunica, although some guys swear it is causing them problems."
westla90069 - Testing LOT Theory

"Lots of guys mistake the septum for the dorsal thickening, and they are very close to each other. The big difference is that the septum consists of very few lengthwise fibers, so its resistance the stretching is not really impressive. "
ModestoMan - Testing LOT Theory

Hey Marinera,

Thanks for responding, but what we have here is a failure to communicate. ;)

Let’s take this point by point:

We short-septum people seem to have a cord *on the top* of the penis. If your septum is thicker on the underside of your dick, you *do not* have what we’re talking about.

Luckily for you.

When we short-septum-disorder sufferers pull on our dicks (from any angle for me, maybe less when SD) - the cord - *on the top* of our shafts - is the tautest, if not *only* taut part (for me it *is* the only taut part). The rest hangs loosely, as if it isn’t being stretched at all.

************************************************** **********************
Imagine a 6 inch innertube with a 5 inch chain welded to the top part. This is as clear a “limiting factor” for length gains as there could possibly be. It’s not a theory, it’s a physical fact.
************************************************** **********************

It’s totally possible that “septum” is the wrong name for this cord, but those of us with cords aren’t proposing a theory or a naming convention here - we’re reporting, unanimously, that we have (comparatively) short, tough cords welded to the tops of our penises that stop the rest of our shafts from stretching.

It may be a myth that this “cord” is the limiting factor for everybody, and it seems like the lack of communication - *and the assumption that all our dicks are the same* - is a bit frustrating, on both sides: but whatever the official name for these cords is, we can accept that the unlucky people all reporting the same thing aren’t lying or hallucinating, right?

It seems there are people with cords (me, Kojack, Nitefly, Soon2b9) and people without cords (Marinera, Westla (?), ModestoMan (?)).

The only question is - how many guys have this, and to what extent is it associated with hard length gaining?

************************************************** *********************

Anybody up for a poll?

POLL: Tough cord on top of your dick taking all the stretch? (Septum?)
