Removing springs from a Penimaster

After reading about the stress relaxation based traction devices I wanted to pimp my Penimaster into a springfree stretcher. After analysing the device I couldn’t find a way to do this.

Since I have bought the modified VacExtender head piece, I don’t consider buying another device where the rods will have another diameter.

Is there a springless device where the rods have the same dimensions as the one of the Penimaster?

If the Penimaster is of similar construction to the Jes, there is a small screw located at the top of the base rod which when unscrewed (by hand) gives you access to the inner cylinder of the rod which holds the spring.

Similar but not identical. There’s actually something which looks like screw on the top of the base rod but I would need a big screwdriver to unscrew it.
