Upgrading Extender Springs

Before I begin. I just wanted to note that the reason why this is in the Basics area of the forum is due to me not having enough growth to my account as of yet. However, I have done a search and still haven’t found the answer.

I was wondering if any of our previous members (or current) has ever found a way to order stronger tension springs? I have the X4 springs set but I was just curious if anyone found a way to order stronger springs from another company (possibly one outside of the PE community)?

Thank you for moving my thread from the basics area. To elaborate more on what I posted above to those who are reading this for the first time. In the past years, I’ve noticed many extender companies change the grams in the springs that they sell. Some have sold 2000 others 3000, X4 sells 3900 and 4200. I’m just curious if there are other sites out there that sell or make higher tensioned springs.

If that’s not enough, you can always buy a set of choice, and then use both the ones that came with the extender and the new ones. Just « put one spring into/together» the old spring. They fit into each other and has the same diameter.

You can buy springs that aren’t directly from an extender company.

Industrial suppliers like McMaster carry an entire array. Just measure the physical size of the ones you have and then use that information to find what you need.

Thank you for this Information. I have been driving myself crazy thinking about contacting stores like Home Depot and Lowes to see if I can find out if they sell springs. My math is not that great but somehow I have to find out the dimensions of the springs.
