Any new ideas on wrapping?

Any new ideas on wrapping?

Subject says it all. Any inventive PE’ers out there figure out any new creative wrapping techniques or materials? I’m using a Wench to hang 5 to 9 pounds and it seems like slippage is sometimes a problem. I have to apply the Wench very tightly, which leads to either coldness & temporary discoloration. If I decrese the tightness of the wrap, it slides & puts too much pressure on the glans. I’m wrapping with theraband, which grabs the skin. At lower weights I’ve been able to put a baby sock under that theraband, but it slips too much at 8 & 9 pounds.

I use theraband with the wench and have no slippage at all. Are you keeping your sets under 20 minutes, I only go for 15

I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work. Thomas Edison (1847-1931)

How tightly are you wrapping? I really hate the way theraband “grabs” the skin. It makes removal pretty painful sometimes.

I was doing 20 minutes/set, but I’ve lowered it to 15 as I’ve increased my weight.

Rubber

I don’t wrap that tight and when I remove the hanger I sort of let the theraband losen on it’s own for a minute so it doesn’t hurt when I pull it off other wise it hurts :)

Thanks. I may be wrapping too tightly, then.

I don’t hang but wrap when using the Penimaster. I bought SuperWrap an (elastic bandage) to use after workout, like guys here use the TheraP wristband. It was to soft for that purpose though. I had wrapped earlier with cotton fabric and Theraband and the wrapping always slipped. I got the idea to try the SuperWrap. It has a non-slip "inner" surface which is soft and feels good on the skin. The outside is a little slippery though so you’ll still need the Theraband. SuperWrap doesn’t pinch the skin but you still have to take it easy when you unwrap. SuperWrap is also washable.

BTW, I’m not a salesman :)

I only hang 5 max, so maybe what I do is irrelevant to you… but I’ll say what I do anyways.

I cut up a thin fancy dress sock, I wrap that around Mr. Happy, then since I couldn’t find theraband anywhere I have a “self adhesive wrap” which seems to work pretty good, I’ve never had any slippage, I also wrap fairly loosely. Is it possible you need to tighten your hanger more?

RBM-
I also use only Theraband and a way around painful unwrapping is to pull a flaccid stretch from the glans and unwrap in this extended state.
It seems to reduce and sometimes eliminate the Theraband ouchies because the wrap has achieved its tightest “cling” to your skin while the weight held your unit in a stretched state. Therefore, it helps to unwrap while extended.

Some people like to talc their Theraband, but my skin hates talc. Have you tried this?

Captn: I tried talc & it seemed to lead to a lot of slippage. Maybe I used too much. I’ll give the “flaccid pull unwrap” a try, too.

Red: The wench is very tight. I’ve used a baby sock with the toe cut out as a wrap, too, and it works at lower weights (5 pounds & less) but higher weight results in slippage.

DirkGently: I’ve read about the elastic bandage wrap idea and will probably give that a shot if I can’t get the theraband to work better.

Thanks for the ideas, guys!

I have really come to like 3m’s Coban. Hard to find but it can be used over and over. It doesn’t stick to skin but it has an elastic effect which makes for a small shaft that can be gripped easily. Another thing I like is Johnsons non-stick wrap. It wont stick to the skin at all but gives a great surface to get ahold of. With either of these you can use Theraband but havent found a need, besides things just get to bulky.

Now BPEL:8 5/8 x 6 5/8 PE Weights

I made one wrap that has lasted me over a year now. Very simple to make. I have never had any problems using it. No slippage. It comes on and off in seconds. No Pain at all.

I got an old cotton tee shirt that was soft and durable. I got some Duct tape and placed a few strips on the shirt. Then I cut a strip out about 7”long x2”thick. (But you would cut it to what feels right for you.)

All I use is baby powder. I sometimes heat my wrap up before I put it on. It solved my problem

Now that sounds like something that someone could commercialize. The concept sounds awfully familiar. I just can’t place where I’ve seen that concept applied before. Does the tee-shirt material ever separate from the duct tape?

I used an iron with enough heat to secure both sides together.

Just ran across this thread again. 11 months later and still using the same wrap.
