Are progressively heavier weights needed for hanging?

I read some Bib guys go up to 30 pounds or so.I don’t like the ideal of hanging 30 pounds from your penis. Is this really necessary or can you just keep at a reasonable weight (5-10 pounds) and just increase sets? I have gained well and I am @ 7.5 lbs.I don’t really want to go higher but it seems to push your gains you need to push the weights (???). Anyone have experience with staying at lower weights?

I’m not a hanger, I used an ADS for 8-12 hours a day at like 1800 grams (almost 4 lbs) and I gained an inch. (Over a year)

But maybe you could use a lighter weight? but it would take a really long time?

Which ADS did you use?

Keep it at a reasonable weight, go by feel. Everyone is different in what weight gives the feeling of a good stretch. If you are hanging continuously (day after day) you will probably find that over time you will need more weight to get the same stretch (conditioning). That’s how some guys get up to 30 lbs. Whenever possible, use time (additional sets) over weight increases. If you find yourself “pushing the envelope” i.e. pushing your limits to risky and uncomfortable levels to pursue gains, you can always take a long decon break and come back several months later - and the low weights will feel heavy again.

My current routine is 6 sets BTC daily with an initial weight of 8.5 lbs. I increase around 15% each week and the new weight always feels extremely heavy the first day of the new week. I think you just have to listen to your body. I’ve read that a lot of people tend to gain in that 15 lbs range.

I totally agree with that.

I vac hang and got up to 10lbs for an hour and blistered. Had to take a week off from hanging. Made another attempt and then checked at 20 minutes because I was paranoid and found I had blistered again.

Decided to go back to jelq and hand clamping for a while.

The thing I realize now that I didn’t realize at the time was, although I had a pretty good stretch going, there was more pressure on my glans inside the rig than the stretch I was getting. I didn’t pay attention to that pressure because I was too focused on my stretch and thinking about how soon I could add more weight. Dumb.

Today is my first day back hanging since early January and 5lbs feels pretty good.

Did 40 min down, and 20 min straight out which I had never done for any real length of time. Had a good feeling of fatigue for the first time in a long time.

Yeah gotta work your way up, the glans will adjust somewhat over time, and technique improves. Switching to water for vac hanging helped my comfort a lot. That and using a sleeve instead of the cone to make the seal. I only ever went up to about 5 - 7 lbs though, and usually more in the 2 - 5 range.

I take it you gained in the 5-7lb zone then? You must have been hanging for a long time.

How do you use a vac hanger without the cone? Everytime I lose vacuum, its because the cone wasn’t seated very well.

Would love to be able to hang without the use of a cone

I like the cone better but I can hang 7.5 lbs with sleeve alone without problems.

@ K_F_H : I was alternating with the BIB and the Vac Hanger at the time, and gained about 0.2 inches in two months.

@ bazookajoey : Credit to capernicus1 and Drake777 for helping me out with this. I used water for the medium instead of air, and then roll one sleeve down my shaft before attaching the hanger, and the other sleeve goes over the hanger and shaft like normal. So the second sleeve is just increasing my effective girth to prevent leaks.

That’s great. I’ve been using the VacHanger 3 for around nearly six months now with no gains. I was hanging at around 8lb before I took a week-long break as I was starting to get dark dots on the tip of my glans. As you’re accustomed to Vac hanging, do you have any tips or advice?

You’ve got more experience with it than me then. That was my first time using it, whereas I have a lot more time in on the BIB.

I liked the SO and upward angles with the Vac hanger since I couldn’t do those with the BIB. Heat, time, and going by feel (feeling the stretch / fatigue) are key in any type of hanging. Also I really like using the Vac hanger with a bungee cord as the weight.

I think that sets that are an hour long are just asking for trouble. Bib suggests 20 minutes; I can handle 30 minutes at a time. But an hour? Not a good idea.

To control blisters I (1) put on a layer of tape, then (2) put about 1/8 tsp baby powder in a silicone cap, and stretch the cap+baby powder over the taped glans. Then I attach the vachanger, and limit my sets to 30 minutes.

I also alternate sets between the bib and the vac hanger, so all the stress isn’t focused on one area. To target the force more effectively, I use a fulcrum. The fulcrum provides a better stretch without adding extra stress on the glans skin.

Once you get a blister, let it heal completely before trying the vachanger again. Then start with lower weight and lower time, gradually working back up to the load you were at before.

Live long and prosper.
