Bib starter looks like a bib hanger

Hey guys,

Just got in my bib starter. I expected it to be smaller than it is. I don’t know if maybe they sent me a BibHanger instead of a starter. Is there any way to tell the difference b/w them? Thanks.

Well, the starter is less than 2 inches “tall” from the middle, while the orginal is almost 3 inches.

Same thing I thought when I got mine. With the bottom skids resting on a table I measure about 3 1/8” to the top bolt.

My Starter was bigger than I expected, too. Then I got a Regular and thought that one was huge. A few months later, I switched back to the Starter and it looked small. It’s all about perception and familiarity.

My reaction upon opening my Bib was, “Holly sh*t! industrial strength PE!”

Thats funny! When I got my starter, I thought the same thing- “man, I don’t believe it! They made a mistake and sent me the Jumbo King Kong dick Bib hanger!” But I measured it and compared it to the one on the Internet site. The starter is bigger than you think.

I am getting pretty good at getting it on and off too. Just pinch it tight, give the butterfly nut a flick with my finger and the thing spins tight right to the tightness that I squeezed it to! Off in two seconds!

Way to go BIB!

So what is better about the full Bib Hanger over the Starter?

Red, the Regular provides more contact space on the shaft supposedly adding more comfort at heavier weights.

Yes and no. Yes because we tend to think we are only stretching behind the hanger. And No, because Bib disagreed with the former assumption. Bib believes the area in contact with the hanger also takes stress.

Who’s right? Take your pick. It didn’t seem to be a big deal for Bib.

I’m pretty small and was using a BIB regular with no problem…till it broke :(
