Breakthrough

Breakthrough

Hey guys, I’ve been doing PE since October 2012. In that time I’ve gained more than an inch, mostly from hanging. My second year gains were SLOW!

For some time I thought that a good pre-stretch manually, and then hang would be a good way to get the thing longer. Not so. What I’ve found is (after doing more research on Thunder’s) if I put too much stress stretching, the tissues get tough, and won’t stretch at all. I’ve been stuck at a BPFSL of 8.5” max for most of last year, and if I stretched with more stress, it got shorter! So after a stretch and hang I’m wondering where the hell 1/2” went.

Now the good part: I warm with a hot wet cloth, then do a stretch, but not very hard! Just enough to get the max length GENTLY. Then I use the hanger, work up to the max weight I use in the first set, and drop the weight if it gets too uncomfortable. At the end of my session today I got a BPFSL of 8.625”. My first indication of a gain in months.

The lesson here is: If you pull too hard, the tissues will retract in response. Hope this helps those who are stuck.

How much tension

Your post does not note; the tension or the amount of weight. Since you have been at it for a while. Tell us. I am changing my hang weight from 4 to 7lbs and for a short duration (5 minutes) from 9 to 16lbs. The last thing that any of us want is put all this time in and not gain anything. I can not provide any long term evidence as to results from changing the amount of weight. But I stick to 5lbs for most of the 6 hours a day that I hang. Currently I am BPFSL at 8” and in the past 2 months gained a .25”(1/4”). My flaccid length is 5 1/2”

I remember Bib writing that one should use the heaviest weight in the first set. I do that in stages, and depending on the way I hang (fulcrum, BTC, or SD) I use different weights. For example I start with 7.5, go up to 10, and peak with 12.5 lbs for the first set. After that, I may only use 10. Or I mix the way I hang starting with a fulcrum set or two at 10 or 12.5 lbs and finish my last set with 7.5lbs hanging straight down (SD). I haven’t the time to hang for six hours so I try at least 40 min in two sets, but prefer 60 minutes of hanging. Sometimes I can get in 90 minutes tops.

The most important finding for me is that pulling hard, and hanging too heavy to force gains does not work.
