Bruised area on glans from hanging.

Bruised area on glans from hanging.

Hello all.

I’ve hanged for around 1 month now. I started at 5 lbs (20min x 3) & moved up to 8 lbs (20min x 3) in two weeks, and to 8lbs for 2 hours/day prior to receiving my bib starter.

I just received my bib starter & moved up to 10lbs (20 min x 3 - twice per day; am & pm session).

At this point I cannot complete a second hour at 10 lbs (20min x3). I feel a sharp pain in my glans & I’m forced to drop to 8lbs until uncomfortable. This usually happens before the second hour is up.

At the end of a workout my glans looks very bruised, but I lose no sensation. I get morning wood with no problem. If I chose to, I could masturbate at the end of such a hanging sesssion.

My question focuses on these three areas:

Have I simply moved up too much weight too quickly? I’m considering resting with only jelqing until normal color returns. Once that happens I’ll spend 2 hrs/day hanging at 8lbs for at least one month.

Could this be a wrapping issue? I use a 1.5 inch strip from an old cotton shirt, with a similar strip of theraband over it. I noticed the pain seems to have decreased a bit since i trimmed a few inches from my cotton wrap.

Could this be a bib starter application issue? I’m 5.5 x 5.5. I have the bottom adjustment bolts spaced out a bit. I tend to get fluffed while mounting the hanger & this might affect seating in the hanger.

FINALLY, last question: Is this something that everyone goes through as “growing pains”? I’ve searched for discoloration posts & most mention coloring around circumcision scars from jelqing.

I think I read a post from bib about discoloring of the glans, but I hoped to clear up some information here.

Thanks.

**I didn’t think this should go into injuries as its not a real injury (yet).

Do you have the hanger anchored directly above your glans?

patrick,

>Have I simply moved up too much weight too quickly?<

It sounds like it. Your soft tissues need time to adapt to the new stresses. I usually had some type of reaction to moving up in weight or time.

>I’m considering resting with only jelqing until normal color returns. Once that happens I’ll spend 2 hrs/day hanging at 8lbs for at least one month. <

That might not be a solution. I found that for me, even taking two days off would make it harder to start back up. With two days off, I was almost assured of getting head discoloration. I quickly learned to ignore it though, and press on. The discoloration always disappeared for me, even while continueing to hang. I would use arnica and Vit E lotion almost every day.

It is probably not a wrapping issue. Just higher blood pressure in the head, than the head is used to. But that does not mean you shouldn’t experiment with different wraps. As you said, even trimming off a little of the cotton wrap made a difference for you.

>Could this be a bib starter application issue? I’m 5.5 x 5.5. I have the bottom adjustment bolts spaced out a bit. I tend to get fluffed while mounting the hanger & this might affect seating in the hanger.<

If by fluffed, you mean a little erect, that can make a difference in head pressure. Try to let any erection subside, and push the extra blood out of the head before attachment of the hanger. Another thing: You said the bottom adjustment bolts are spaced out a bit. Do you mean the inner hex nuts? I hope you are adjusting with those, and not having the outer wing nuts loose while hanging. The wing nuts are only to get to the hex nuts within the right skid. If the wing nuts are loose while hanging, you could be creating all manner of head problems.

>FINALLY, last question: Is this something that everyone goes through as “growing pains”? I’ve searched for discoloration posts & most mention coloring around circumcision scars from jelqing.<

In general, I would say most guys get some form of discoloration doing PE, usually when going up in time or intensity. However, luckily your body will adapt.

For me, I found that pressing forward through any type of discoloration always worked for me. Continueing to hang or PE does not preclude healing and removal of discoloration.

The teeth on the bib meet around 1.5 inches before the glans pre-loading.

It sucks that it’s tempting to hang more weight before I might be ready. I wanna be careful, so I’ll decrease to 8lbs (20 x 6) for at least a week to confirm no loss of sensation or different coloring. It’s pretty bruised right now and I haven’t hanged today. It doesn’t hurt and I seem to have all sensation.

You mention a reaction from moving up in weight etc… Did you get pretty bruised?

Thanks all.

From what I’ve been through the bruising on the tip of the head is no big deal to me. If you are not comfortable with this, then drop the weight until more conditioning takes place, as Bib suggested. I’ve had bruising that was very dark, it lasted about a week. I simply didn’t change anything since I knew the cause. Use some of the creams Bib speaks of,I’m sure they will help.

You will always get a reaction from moving up in weight, increasing time, etc. The key is to recognize the bad reactions, these would be head turning light blue or white, head getting very cold, significant loss of erection quality, etc. I never backed off weight because of head bruising, but if it bothers you, then do so until your penis becomes more conditioned.

patrick,

I could get very discolored after taking a couple days off and hitting the hanging hard. It was not a bruise, there was no tissue damage. But simply discoloration from trapped blood close to the skin. It did not hurt at all.

As long as I kept hanging, it would clear up, and I would have no more discoloration until the next time I took off.

I have been getting this same thing, it takes a few days to go away it’s right below the circ scar on the bottom and it seems to come back as soon as I hang. It’s a very dark discoloration or bruise about the size of a quarter I get no pain and my dick works fine it just looks like shit.
