Hangers: Theory of Operation

It certainly does look like a lot of weight is being carried by the skin. I estimate that anywhere between 3 and 4# is carried by skin during my own hanging sets with the Wenchette. Once the “plug” is formed, however, it creates a hard stop that prevents the skin from sliding any further forward. Beyond that point, any weight that you add is applied one-for-one (or close to it) to the “internals.”

The exception is when you are forced to apply the hanger lower on the penis to accommodate more weight. Then, there will be more skin stretch and less of the added weight will be borne by the internals.

Apologies— I kind of got drawn into the whole discussion. It seems it’s a more sensitive issue than I’d anticipated.

THose of you who were tracking Mr. F’s discussion about Bib Hanger issues can find that information here (Assuming I didn’t screw up).

Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

ModestoMan,
I did attach the hanger 1/2” further up the shaft and it did not slip at 11.25 lbs. My glans was at least 3/8” from the shoulders on the BIB. I felt fine. I probably should have added weight but I didn’t think of it. I really do have a good grip on the internals.

That’s an interesting idea. I think the CS/glans has a separate blood supply from the CCs, so gripping like /0\ might prevent glans blood from getting trapped.

I’m just hanging my first set of the day now. I can see that there’s at least 1/2” gap between the leading edge of the hanger and the glans. But there’s still a high pressure plug in front of the hanger.

When I put the hanger on, my dick was slightly puffy. Not erect, but slightly on its way to a semi. I’ve noticed that the grip is much better when my penis is in this condition. I believe I may be trapping CC blood in front of the hanger. This gives the impression of “gripping the internals,” whereas I suspect it is really just using the CC blood as the “plug.” Sorry to sound like Johnny One-Note, but that’s the way I see it.

Continuing the thought above about the CC blood acting as a plug, I wonder whether the guys who have the easiest time getting these hangers to hold are the ones who jelq between sets. As we know, jelqing forces blood into the CCs and tends to keep it there for a while.

I’m thinking that jelqing between sets may make it easier to form a CC plug, which will give the hanger something to push against when the weight is applied. The glans itself can remain relatively flaccid.

This is a great thread, MM  I’ll have to catch up with it when I have some spare minutes and brain cells someday soon…

MM: It is my opinion that penis shape has a direct bearing on the slippage of the internal penis structures. My penis is somewhat carrot shaped in that it tapers to the glans. It is not possible to grip a tapered spindle shape effectively. Some guys have baseball bat shapes. But a horizontal shape without the taper would afford a better grip. I wonder if orange bends might increase the diameter at the end of the penis, thus removing some of the taper?

Swinglow: Mine tapers down as well, and I agree that it contributes to the problem. I’ve started jelqing between sets and I think that really helps. The key factor for my comfort seems to be having a small degree of turgidity in my CCs when I apply the hanger. I’m not talking about an erection here, just a whisp of a semi.

Getting the CCs to bear the weight and act as the “plug” is infinitely preferable to using the CS or glans. I find that this arrangment really reduces donut, as well.

THe danger of hanging with partially inflated CCs is, I think, thrombosed veins. But again, I’m talking about only a whisp of a semi and light to moderate weight.
