So I just wonder if you have to add extra weight for sitting, or my way of doing is wrong. I didn’t use the pulley like a poster suggested, but I did try out with plastic bottle and hard aluminium can, and although it works better, it still doesn’t feel like what it is supposed to feel.
You JUST started hanging, so fatigue should not be your primary concern. Hanging properly and safely should be #1 on your mind at this point.
Also, some guys may not be able to reach fatigue at 3-5lbs, especially while standing. When you do the “BTC - Between The Cheeks” angle, you are isolating the ligaments, thus inducing potential fatigue more quickly. As Bib says, “Divide and Conquer”.
The answer you’re looking for isn’t something you can just find at the drop of a hat. Read the Hanging 101 thread. Then read it again. Digest it. Look around this forum and Bib’s forum (google “Bibhanger” and you’ll find it) as well. Bib’s site isn’t just for people who own a Bib hanger, it’s about hanging in general. Sure there are differences between devices but you’ll be able to filter those out hopefully. When you’re on his site check out the Product Guide. It has amazingly useful information regarding generally accepted baselines for time, weight, number of hanging sets and the progression in time and weight.
Read as much as you possibly can about hanging. Then read some more. It requires a LOT of knowledge, a lot of time, and even more experimentation and tinkering. You cannot jump into it without doing your homework as you can with jelqing or manual stretches or you’ll hurt your most prized possession, and what guy wants to do that?
I’m not a pro. I’m rather new at hanging as well having started in March of this year. But before I strapped anything to my dick I wanted to make sure I knew as much as possible about what I was getting in to. I learn something new every freakin’ day.
Started hanging on 3/28/12 after minimal gains on the newbie routine. Still not discouraged! This game is 99.9% mental. Stick with it, gents.
After 1 month of hanging 5-6lbs BTC: 1/4" gain in BPEL and BPFSL!
